Yup I'm having the same problem guys. It's either the abs hump pushing it onto the tyre or it's deflecting onto the tyre somehow.

Right we need to figue this out lads!!!

Here is my theory IT IS NOT THE HUMP Touching!!! Its the hugger getting warm and deforming onto the trye!

My reason all the boys with abs and the honda after market huggers that are rigid dont have a prob!

Right special bond and alu bracing time if it still does it then its back to the swingarm gaurd and no hugger ;)

anyone with the none abs 2010/11 having an issue with the 2012 hugger and shock? and what tyre width is everyone running

might be a daft one this but you guys running standard gearing or diff sprockets just thinking that it might be the gearing altering where the wheel sits with the slightly longer shock ? maybe :)

maybe the res of the shock, pushing it down abit and when moving it pushes it down move and it quite flexi anyways.... though you say you got the 2012 hugger??? should be fine as swingarm hasnt changed, defo sure you got 2012 hugger as no different to if you bought the 2012 bike

Looking at your pic... no way should tyre touch it.... is the hugger nice and tight at the bolts ie - not loose? seems very werid, as wheel dont move seprate to swingarm, so hugger is doing something wrong... hugger bolts standard? maybe 2012 bolt different as hugger different so the bolts mounting area might be moulded different..... go to dealer and play with hugger on 2012 bike see what movement it as etc

I have a 55 profile interact fitted, 44th sprocket so the tyre is closer to the OE hugger but it has not rubbed yet :) and its obviously non ABS

are you taking into account how much the tyre increases in size the quicker it goes?

Does the angle of the shock change when the suspension moves down causing the reservoir to push the hugger down onto the tyre? As the tyre cannot move within the swinging arm something must be interfering with the hugger.
Good luck fixing it - Steve

Forgot to add - put some blue tack under the shock reservoir and see if it gets squashed.

Yeah i no where your coming from mate BUT!

The shock swingarm rear wheel and hugger are all the same as the ABS model therefore the only diff is the ABS Bulge but i cant see that hitting the hugger cos for instace if it does that means its a inch off tyre the back end would be well qwat!!!

I am in the middle off modding now the shocker only move side to side on the top eyelet about mm either way and not enought to catch hugger also there are no marks on undertray hugger or shock aarrgghh lol!!

I don't think it is the ABS bulge either mate. I had a powerbronze hugger on before the standard and I never had any problems with that and that sat higher. I'm beginning to think that with I being so flimsy and not quiet sitting right, due to the ABS cable clamp on the swingarm, that it is being blow into the tyre with the wind or sucked in via the tyre at speed.

One thing that does bother me is the only diff is bulge and abs wire and the non abs dont have a prob lol we will see!! does yours seem really plyable once the shock and tyre get warm? you can actually change the shape of it even with the bolts tight!!

Mine gets really plyable when hot like you describe. I find I could easily move it 20mm once I've been a run.
