In my eyes there is going to be a base model is neither of the sp models have pillion pegs but the spy shots show the new blade having them. It also shows the black frame (same as the current base blade) and basic forks. I first thought that maybe they didn't put the pillion pegs on for the unveil, but then thought surely they'd leave off the mirrors and number plate hanger too. I'm excited to see it at motorcycle live. And if the release date of around March is true I'd love to get one before my trip to the nurburgring.
Yes it can go on the road - I guess they need to do this so that it qualifies for Superbike regs. From the Honda website "The SP2 is a road legal homologation special using the Fireblade SP as a base - 141kW peak power, 114Nm torque, Marchesini wheels with optional HRC Sport Race or Full Race kits." SP2 pictured with headlights, number plate hanger, indicators.
That puts @ColinBR 's pricing bang on then so far. Got my fingers tightly crossed he's wrong about the SP1
Flipping heck you need a degree to work that dash out......I like just putting in the key and off you go ,,,I have ocd I would always be tinkering with it.....looks great .....should do for 20k plus.....
Ah ha! First reference to the standard model. QS is optional - wonder what else H will remove from the base model. You believe they'd ditch the Ohlins and active suspension. Wonder what else?
