Yes I have and I'm still very happy with it, you cant compare the road bike to the race bikes. Although lots do. and there's lots of folk with very short memories of problems with other bikes.
Did Honda ever say what had happened with Johns crash? And was the result of that the reason behind the electronics change?
I believe that Guys aspergers makes him more liable to be very blunt & honest, that can be seen in his books & general way he is with life. I think if he'd have dropped a bollock he'd have probably coughed it...all I know is he looked very uncomfortable in the interview....guess we'll have to wait for his next book for the low down
They are riding on the edge, not pottering round. Like he said, with those margins you need the bike in gear to help slow it and get it turned. Rider or bike error I don't believe he could have rounded that bend in neutral.
Personally it all seems everything has been rushed. Rather than design an entire new engine, they have tweaked it fiddled with the clutch. The new throttle body uses ride by wire which I imagine remains on the bike unless they have reworked it or gone back to the old version. The factory HRC kit has not even been released yet. They never had a factory loom so Track electronic had to make one and they had to fly over a new ECU from Japan. Hayden's engine mount cracked which makes me wonder if this was due to shaving weight off the frame. Switching to Motec (also used on the BSB bikes) suggests the concerns are with the new electronics.
I would just like to say how pleasing and refreshing it is that we can all discuss this like adults on this forum, with a bit of banter added, without anyone spitting their dummy's out and getting nasty. Unlike the other main social media site, there's enough shit flying around on there to bury everyone.
I go out with a couple of lads on a Monday night for a couple of pints, it's more of a social thing than a drinking thing really, we've had some proper raging arguments over the years and the following Monday, we meet up, chat, drink, like nothing happened, everyone has a different opinion and is entitled to it as long as it's not hurting anyone, I tend to draw the line when the name calling starts, I'm not prudish by any means but when people resort to swearing at you .....a) you've won the argument imo, b) you can't actually reason with them properly after that. Sooooo......what's the new Blade like
Well actually I think its quite good I did test all the other bikes before I made my decision, but if anyone else thinks its crap or wouldn't buy one because of whats happened to GM & JM then thats up to them, each to their own. Can anyone name a new top end sportsbike that has not had any problems ?
Ultimately it doesn't really matter what it does on the track to me, if it's a good road bike then that's what's important to most people, I'd rather it was a bit cheaper but hey ho. I never buy a new model anyway and always try to give it a year or so to sort out any niggles.
Interesting read. It's looking like a repeat of C-ABS to me. Brave of Ride magazine to tell it like it is, AT LAST.
Weird that the big bang r1 was fly by wire throttle and nothing like this reported. I had problems with the r1 when a tps sensor played up in cold / slightly damp weather and bike was a pig to ride, to the point of dangerous till i replaced them. The few on here who have them have had no issues that i know of to date Sent from my E6853 using Tapatalk
To be honest Honda have properly lost the plot, the moto gp bikes are a dog they won't turn for toffee the wsb bikes are so off the pace its unreal the bsb bikes are nowhere near and we can all see what's happened with the road racing bikes plus indifferent reviews of the current blade and lack of inspiration throughout their model range just takes the biscuit if there not careful poor race results will be the least of their worries
