    Quick update.

It was the tracker that drained it - without line of sight it was just constantly pinging away.

Re the stuck bolt, Honda Assit fella had to use a chisel to get the bolt undone but managed it without slipping and scratching the paint. Heart in moment that. It had been massively overtightened at the factory / garage.

Luckily the blade battery is easy to remove (once stuck bolts taken care off) so is now charging and I’ll hopefully be back on it tomorrow.

Of note, I don’t have electrical sockets in my garage but the mechanic recommended getting a car battery and hooking that up if you’re leaving it anymore more than a couple weeks.

Seems pretty straightforward and simple solution. He was a biker himself (with a 1999 and 2012 blade) said that’s what he does for his.

Interesting - I’ve got one that I take when touring. May ask them to add one on the first service in a couple of weeks.

Going to ask them to fit the tail tidy I got as well - after the issue with the bolt i’d rather save my time.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier was that most of the tools are missing from the blade tool bag that comes with the bike - only realised when I was trying to remove the seat.

You don't mention if the 2018 is an SP or not. If it is, you'll need a special Lithium charger.

    This has helped me.
My mate brought a new blade last week and today his battery was dead.
    No tracker
He got told by the dealer to get it to them and they will have a look and told him it had a lithium battery so don’t jump it or use any old charger, I told him it had not got a lithium, he went to infinity for a lithium charger and they sold him a normal one and after all that he just stuck it on anyway and then checked the battery number and it is a normal battery.
So it is on charge and then going back to dealer when charged.
    Do you get my jist;)

Yeah - dealer told me mine had a lithium-ion battery but it’s just standard. SPs have the lithium batts.

Standard battery is pretty small - half the size of the one I had on my little NC30. I actually don’t think I’ll bother upgrading to a lithium ion one
