I hope folks don't think I am a shill for Honda at all - I actually hate Honda with a passion now. The way they duped us SP2 early order folks and the flat out lied about capabilities and then refuse to support the bike they way they promoted it makes me wish someone would take Honda on in court. But sadly while Honda UK, Honda Europe, Honda Australia and Honda USA are the worst communicators, devious marketers and tone deaf with regard to Customer Service - they are really stuck with what Honda Japan builds - which in turn is based on current legislation. The crappy stock fueling and ignition tables may very well play havoc with some UK bikes due to fuel and exhaust combinations and editing those tables after a proper dyno session may be the only answer. Unfortunately Honda dealers will never be able to address this issue - hell, even a new ECU update from Honda Japan would just be another version of a generic set of fuel/ignition tables. I am more upset about the lack of ability to calibrate the Torque Management so it is aware of tire and sprocket changes. Honda have created an inherently unsafe vehicle here as tyre profile changes and sprocket changes are a normal part of motorcycle customization - but are explicitly not supported by Honda on the SC77 models. The decision to separate Wheelie Control and Traction Control for 2019 is a simple way to side step the issue - because this change is till in the context of stock sprockets and 190/55 tyre profile.
If i was using my SP has a track or race bike i would be pissed at honda for not being able to change sprockets and tire size! i have taken the SP on the track,it was fun but my race bike is so much more fun! If you start changing things on your bike or car without tuning you are always going to have problems, That's why i always have my bikes and cars tuned to get the most of them! I have never had a bike or car perfect off the floor,to many restrictions the manufactures have to deal with!
The bike hauls now doesn't it? Yes, I have the last C5 Z07 package that MTI Houston put together before they closed shop in 2007. And as always - I went a little overboard with the build LOL Big wing, full splitter with under tray, 600bhp 427ci LS7, race seats, carbon panels etc. I think the frame and windows are the only stock pieces left. But I have 115,000 miles on the car (since new in 2001) so I guess we like it a lot
Oh its a far more versatile accessory - it does triple duty as a clothes horse when not being used as a picnic table - This image is from way back in 2011 I believe, during the black wheels/roof/raw carbon wing days.
the bike feels awsome now! more people should listen to what you have to say! the bike feels like it should have come from the factory!
love the vette! i have a 2015 Z06 and love it! And yes its modded and tuned! making 650 to the wheels with just a few bolt ons!
That how shocking the difference was for me. I only had about 40 miles on mine and knew something was "not right" - did that flash and on the dyno we say 150 to 170 at the wheels just like that with no other mods. The UK bikes should already feel faster out of the gate, but their fueling will still be a compromise. I also suggest that the SP2 ETV tables be editing into the SP1 ECU. Gives an entire new feel to the 5 power modes.
I think you are correct I'm little bit more mamby pamby than Rottweiler. I stated previously that the problem arose pre Yoshi. Asked dealer to fit Yoshi, but to look into dodgy throttle before fitting. But they obviously didn't. So I have returned it to standard exhaust and will be taking it back for a full ECU reset and asking them to wipe the learning memory as advised by Honda technical dept at the 2018 NEC bike show. Although it won't be going anywhere until it warms up a bit and the road look less like salt covered skating rinks.
I can't wait to hear the outcome of that. Will certainly show whether your dealer techs know their stuff, AND whether they're suitable equipped. Will be a big test of the 'factory trained' cliche bandied about by nearly every service centre!
I'm told they reset the learning side of the memory. Apparently my bike has learned something it shouldn't.
