360 of the new R1 with a load of forum lot slating it lol

I like the lights because they are well hidden and give the bike more of a track look
I really am drawn to this new R1...its the first bike that may actually take me away from Honda
but time (and test ride) will see...

 

I like it, it's fresh looking, Yamaha build great bikes imo.

 

Don't like all the bolt on bits ont exhaust, wtf are they heat shields or summat
Also looks like a kid has gone wild with a cheap looking can of silver spray paint
And that hideous high screen wtf

Best not say anymore , sure I'll get slated will wait till 2016 for an updated blade

 

high screen? doesn't look any higher than my blade to me?
as for exhaust, how many here have standard exhaust on their bikes?
am sure there will be an after market one at some point?


anyway life would be sh*t if we all liked the same thing, believe it or not, some people don't like fireblades

in need of a new exhaust for sure, even though its meant to be light? does it need all that "Box" in there? cat? or what?

 

Taken deposits for 2 R1M's already and 1 standard version. Think Yam have done well with this, certainly stealing the attention.

I think I like the looks.. Its not blow you away beautyfull but you wouldn't kick it out of bed. Well only at 6am on a summers morning for a good thrashing

To expensive for me though, could never justify spending that sort of money on a new bike when im driving around in a 12 year old car lol

15k for a standard R1 & 18.5k for the R1M , who's gunna pay it lmfao

 

2 x R1M's sold and 3 standard versions now and thats a dealer in Cornwall, so yeah selling.

 

Can't have one as the last Yamaha I had a R1 and a R6 ended up in the lovely fields on the A272 so no more for me!

And before anybody says owt I do like Yams, only bought the blade as the R1 had remained the same for far too long and needed updating. I was expecting this new R1 to blow me away. Sadly it fell well short, don't like it at all.

15k for a standard R1 would get you a Beemer s1000rr and £1000 change or the s1000rr with extra toys for 15k
Or a blade and 3k change.
18.5 k would buy you a 1299 panigale and £1500 change or an aprillia rsv4rf and about £1000 change.
In a nutshell it's over priced and not as good as I thought it would be and there's better to be had for the money.
Reckon I best not comment anymore on this as I don't wanna upset the Yam lovers on here

Oh and one last point, I'll be interested to see 2015 end of year sales figures, not 1 day after the show sales figures

 

I'm with you paint scheme looks cheep don't like the front and it can have all the electronics in the world but like in bsb I can't ride no where near like them you can only go so fast on the road and they remove all the tech! So trade in year old blade and put 7k in the pot I don't think so !

 

The customer buying them are current R1 owners, I expect similar will happen when a new Blade (if ever) appears, it will be current Blade owners wanting the latest.

 

Think that's a pretty good price for the R1-M.
