When I first moved (escaped more like) 'down here' the first thing I noticed was every other person on the street was a nutter or at the very least weird. 'Up there' it's only about one in 20. I also soon stopped saying hello to people on the street otherwise they'd assume that you was a nutter. It's also true about London pubs, there are some great ones but very few relative to numbers, the vast majority are abysmal. If I go back home now they think I talk like Prince Charles.
Isn't he welsh!? Dave v is right you know..... The Thames is the border, the Medway the 2nd border.... Sorry Kent, but anything in between is just no mans land
Out of order Jimbo, I am in the fecking front line here, mostly the £2 Dartford bridge fee deters most northerners, but a few of the nouveau riche ones extend their credit limit and venture south into Kentishire, you can spot them quite easily in Waitrose, they are the only ones removing stuff from the food donation boxes and asking the Big Issue seller for a free fag.
Sorry mate, I understand your suffering as I see it all to often from here..... But don't worry, I've got your back
Should the title read "45 Reasons The North Of England is Better Than The South East" or 45 Reasons The North Of England is Better Than London"
Good point, totally forgot that the capitals not in the South East and how many great football teams are based in the South West. Now back to munching your carrot
Well as per usual mate it's us Kent and London boys who are left defending the honour of the country, oops I mean the south of England.
The whole North / South divide debate is easily summed up. The South is richer / has better shopping and more things to do / looks more impressive / has more money spent on it / has much nicer weather and you get better paid. The downsides of the South are that it's hugely overcrowded / everything costs a ridiculous amount / there are no hills or mountains / it doesn't even feel like England most of the time / the people aren't generally as friendly. The North is less crowded / more picturesque / has better motorcycling roads / is cheaper / still feels like England most of the time and people are friendly and talkative. The downsides are that it's often crap for shopping / the pay's lower / the transport links aren't very good / the weather's mostly sh*te / it gets little money spent on the infrastructure and can feel like a bit of an outpost at times. It's a case of taking your pick based on what means most to you. I hate crowds (more specifically crowds of Southerners ) so I'll stay here.
Well said rich well said.... But you missed on key fact. I'm 50 mins from the other side of this big black hole And the playground there is bigger, better, quieter, sunnier and not full of northerners....
Oh and......I'll just mention......Cheryl Kerrlll I don't know about you lot but I'd crawl a hundred yards over broken glass just to stick matches in her poo.
I would rather watch football that spend time with her going things. Yes I Said would rather watch football....................
