I’ve also got a 55 to go on after my 50 is shredded.

Just wanted to let you know that I also played around with a 50 and 55 tyre and had a real ABS problem. This was a 2011 Fireblade, but I was forced to change it back to the factory 50 tyre.
Unlike Aprilia, for example, I could not adjust the ABS to the new tyre dimension.

What did it do with the 55 on?

Has anyone running a 55 noticed the front wearing out quicker, I used to get use out of two rears (50s) to one front but since I've been running 55s the front got down to the wear markers a lot sooner with 30% of the rear left , about 1000 miles .suspension settings not changed. Running recommended tyre pressures.

(Edited to say) been running Bridgestone bt 016 pro"s for the last 6 years

I gave the tyre to a mate and put a 50 tyre back on.

I expect taller 55 profile hacing a lower RPM so it would wear less compared to 50. To what extent, I don't know.
Your need to compare like for like so same brand & same compund

You probably get more rubber on a 55 + weight shift to front and more aggressive turning. All adds up.

I suspect the standard tyre is a 50 cos the bike is already set up to turn quick. I’m a bit worried when I fit my 55 it’s gonna be a bit unstable.

My previous post. Its never unstable, my opinion is it steers to quick for normal road use. Track and fast road the 55 is great. Don't have abs so can comment. Spinning up is progressive and manageable.

Quick update from me. Dropped the pressures down to 34, 36 loads nicer.
Hope the road 5's hold up to lower pressure better than the pr4's.

I’ve just changed out a 55 for a 50 and the bike feels much better in the corners, in my opinion.
