    Hello, a couple of questions guys if you don't mind. Will the ECU be disgarded and removal and whats the purpose of cutting the wires if they are to be removed.

    Spill the beans laddy! Mines out but still interested in knowing what makes it come on and stay on. I'm gussing it picks up some voltage once the system self checks to turn the light off??

    Yea your right in what your saying mate. He just found out what voltage it needed and tapped into another supply with the same voltage to switch it off.

    The abs ecu will be completely disregarded and the cutting the wires is required in order to remove the abs part of the wiring loom from the non abs part of the wiring loom, as the non abs and the abs wiring looms are slightly altered by Honda to add the required fuses and connections and allow for bigger battery fitment.

    The abs on the blade/cbr600rr is fundamentally the same throughout all abs equipped bikes from launch in late 09 to current.

    Oh an way to introduce yourself buddy. ;)

    old threat but i just thought i reply to add my 2 cents..

    the only thing u have to do to turn off the abs light after abs removal is cut the orange/green wire (running from the abs unit to the dash) and attach the bit on the dash side to ground....

    @Dave dunlop

    Dave, how long did it take you to remove the system? I might have to go down this road & just want a rough idea hours wise so the garages don't try & stiff me when I make cost enquiries....

    Thanks for that...much appreciated. Did you upgrade your brakes at same time? Or stay standard? Any issues since you did it?

    Yeh Colin's about right, at a steady pace with lots of tea breaks:D if I had to stick my neck on the line I think 5 hours with a few less brews, that would be to reconnect with lines and re bleed.... or you could just disconnect everything and leave it in place! Can't see the point in that personally as it removes a shed load of weight, your need to make a bracket to strap the battery up as it's removed from the pump under the seat... :)
