Yeah.. No issues just means it hasn't failed yet. 99 times out of a hundred they'll work. It's when you need them in an emergency that they WILL fail... And you won't know until you're sorry... Just hope you don't have to yank the brakes on immediately when releasing after slowing up bit. That's when they will fail. Probably 25% of the time. Maybe more. Because the stupid arse of a system thinks you're feathering the brakes. And we all know what happens when you feather Crappy-ABS...
I have just bought a new CBR and chose the C-ABS version. First had ABS on my V-Strom 650 and figured it was all right, seemed to work okay on that. Just wondering how the system copes with heavy breaking, and then suddenly a slippy bit of wet white line painted on the road or patch of road repair, whether you will still end up on the floor ! Wondering if the system can cope with that sort of rapid change in grip surface.
ABS doesn't increase your road grip, obvs. If you're at an angle and it's a big slippy thing like a diesel spill, you'll still hit the deck, from experience. But it will click in and out as you go over shiny road repair and big metal covers and if you're upright you'll be fine.
In yes... Out, not so sure... Only once have I had the C-ABS put the brakes back ON after it thought it should loosen them. It locked up the front wheel for me at the time... Normal ABS WILL increase after the slippery patch. That's the source of the juddering. You'll notice no judder on Hondas... H
non ABS on a blade, opinion not based on own experiance as mine doesn't have it but all the grief others have. It can be removed, Colin on here has done just that.
