A customer of mine, a corporate accountant, a man of a certain age, had a beautiful house in the middle of nowhere but had something similar built at the bottom of his garden. Tastefully decorated, lovely furniture, plasma, bose, Playstation and xbox, beer fridge and a Porsche 911.

Unfortunately, the traditional mindset that comes with such concepts also coincided with a much younger secretary and a roving eye.

So the exploitation of such a wonderful space was shortlived to say the least.

Love that shed with the sofa ..... better than my living room ! I have a garage but am trying to come up with a solution to keep the damp out..... it has power but its a concrete garage with the usual up and over door and the corrugated roof, it just seem to get really damp in this kind of weather. Is there any way to reduce this, i know i won't be able to stop it alltogether given it is a single skinned building but i must be able to improve it.... what about putting those insulation sheets between the wood rafters ?

Thank you for all the answers, shipmates. Most of these options are way over my budget. I am in rented accomodation at the moment so there's a limit to how much work I want to put in as I'll be here for 3 years max and I may/may not take it with me. I was thinking about getting a cheaper, wooden shed and then beefing it up myself as I'm in the building game and have the tools. The bit I worry most about is the door(s), more specifically the hinges. Presumably these can be crowbarred off in a jiffy. Is there any way to make them more secure?

I can lay my hands on plenty of wooden pallets if that's any nearer your budget :D

No...cos I'd be tempted to make a massive bonfire. And with your tag that would probably get right on your nerves!

Hi Freedom, I have had no trouble with condensation. There is a purpose made vent and plenty of air gaps without letting any rain in. I keep quite a few things in there and no corrosion of bike or any other items. You can always dismantle and take with you if you move as well.
