Carole Nash sponsors of the NEC Bike show quote for a 6 wheel FC policy at £1073. Bennetts another bike Insurers quoted £84 FC policy for the Blade alone. You dont need a a degree in Economics when they reply that costs have gone up by 35% more like a 500% ripoff.
We can only hope Bennets get a back lash from their policy and the other insurance providers take note, however, I suspect they will have done their homework and either expect others to follow or indeed they actually don't want the bikers that mod their bikes. Tank pads, crash bungs, stickers and tyres seems to be a little odd though? I can understand performance related mods but not stickers for pitty sake?
I dont think other insurance companies will follow. It is very clear that the majority of ALL types of biker from tourers, to sports bike riders are deeply against this as quite frankly it makes no sense. The only colclusion you can draw from it is a way for the insurer to not pay out in the event of an accident or claim. Clever competitors will be busily forming up new policies to steal Bennets customer base. Very simply i see a 'no-limit' policy coming which says you can have as many mods as you like (bar capacity increases), however the mods will probably not be covered in the event of a claim. Which i think most people will see as a fair compromise. I think in order to cash in on this vast error by Bennets, I expect to see some heavy advertising by the time next months bike mags go to press.
i was with BENNETTS they are a bunch of robbing double standard thieving to$$er$ i'd advise to steer well clear of them boys and girls !!!
