Bugger. Can't affords to be payin for it to get done with racing coming up! Might just have to live with it
Facksake if it was a bike it would all be getting done at home. I suppose I'll just have to leave it for now, she still runs OK and its only first gear.
I wouldnt like to take a gearbox out on my drive when its cold out. Is there anywhere local you would trust to take it?
Another way to look at it YT is the difference what you paid against brand new must be epic so if this is the only gripe then you may be doing ok .i know words are cheap but that's life. I bought my van last week and on Sat had to spend 200 sheets on 4 new budget tyres it's something I didn't see coming I have also booked it in for a service and cam belt change as if it goes pop I would top myself ( not really) but I can't risk it.
My transit had the clutch blow itself up about 8 weeks after I got it. Had to drive home ten miles and reverse it onto the drive without the clutch, just blipping throttle to change down, reverse was a real challenge, start it in gear and hope to steer it straight through the gates without hitting anything. Managed it luckily. The clutch tool all day to do by myself FWD mk6 2.3 tdi was a heavy box !!! Did it on the drive up on axle stands, never again though !!! That's why when 3rd gear does go, the vans getting scrapped.
