Mate done it on my 06 it was a PITA and they were all in spec it's just really getting to them . The only reason I done them to be honest I don't trust the dealers . Now if mine reaches 16k I would if he would I'd rather pay Arthur and leave it with him a few days
I will incur the wrath of Arthur, but 4th Blade over 200K miles and never touched them.....................so they are not out obviously.........but then again no ones ever checked them to find out, so they probably have been out...I haven't got a fecking clue really is where I am getting to I guess. I work on that famous old adage of 'if it ain't broke', which works perfectly until it breaks I reckon I have saved on approx 15 valve checks in that time, at dealer rates that's about the price of a decent 4/5 year old Blade
Navvy, I would never, ever sell a bike to someone I knew that's a given. Especially if I wanted to remain on talking terms with them. The last time I did that was a race ZX6, had run like a dream, zero issues, sold it to a mate and the bloody box imploded within 2 weeks, just makes life awkward after that.
Yea same here .... I sold a Beetle (VW that is) to a friend .. never missed a beat Within a month the engine lunched itself and he maintained I knew it was gonna happen and wanted his money back ...
at 50k it did need them doing , and I think most needed some shims, it def ran better after they were done. As for price it was part of a quite a bit of work , which with VAT was just under a grand - think its 3 / 4 hours labour for the valves alone. They did a pretty major service, that included pads, oil, filter, dyno run, fitting QS, Brembo M/C and a fair few fairing clips which are MEGA money - VAT alone was £200 bastard quid...
I like the passion in that statement, when you buy something you really want, its pounds sterling, it actually buys something tangible, it has a genuine value. But when it goes to the thieving, slimy taxation department, pounds sterling suddenly transform into bastard quid, it at that point has no value, sums up so nicely in two simple words, everything we hate about paying tax.
