I had a VFR 400 took it to the TT a few years, I had a bit of a running with my mate on a blackbird over the mountain, he never got passed me,admittedly I did know the roads a lot better then him but to keep what was then supposed to be one of the fastest production bike at the time behind little 400 it felt good,I had a lot of fun
I used to have an RVF400, cracker bike, just a lack of tyre choices that annoyed. It had a problem that was just due to age - the engine was sound but there was a vacuum leak somewhere I think. The mechanics were too lazy or couldn't be arsed so I had to let it go. Miss that bike....fast for a 400 too, and made more than the advertised 39kW. It exceeded the 180Kph marked on the speedo by some measure...
