I used to use a Shoei. Had both the XR 1000 and the 1100 both great lids and didn't cost the earth. Now I use a Shark Carbon Spartan which IMO fits just like a Shoei and has a plusher liner to it. Honestly can't fault the spartan lid.

That's true, fit should be the primary concern really. Again things have changed and some manufacturers now make different models with different shell shapes and sizes. Arai used to be for Arai heads and Shoei for Shoei, not so much the case any more. My X-Lite's are a very similar fit to the original Arai Quantum and RX7. In fact I'm just about to buy another one in black carbon and red trim to match the bike and because I'm a tart.
I have had shark for the last 12 yrs or so due a new lid now had a rsr pro for the last five years .... Good vision and very light had a look on the shark site and still the same design so will try others I do like the look of the top of the range Agv .....but will try all have had Arai as well again great lids .....
