Not a million miles away except for the sag. Have they dialled in for the static sag rather than the Rider sag? Strange. Or have they just noted the static value? Is that on standard forks? Mine is much better than standard at 12 turns! It was too soft for me before. Much nicer on the front end now.

Apparently static sag is more important than rider sag ... Basically if you set the static sag and can't get rider sag within correct measurements you need different springs ... And likely valving...

Funny enough my local suspension guy was trying to tell me that last week. I know I'm too heavy for the standard springs so there's no point going there. I'll change the springs later in the year, for now I'm happy.

This was for standard suspension and is static sag I think, they do say that at 15st the springs really need to be changed as are too soft for the weight!

Blade springs are for 12-13st people, hence buying an ohlins rear shock later on

However the difference after they did their magic was night and day! I followed a mate back through cheddar gorge a road I don't know and my mate does but I was all over him on the bends (he is a very quick rider) it gave that much confidence

The front fork springs are actually a bit stiff at 11Nm IIRC ... So you should be ok in that respect given your on standard preload ...

The rear shock spring is definitely too soft ... But the standard damper is not great and neither is adjustment ..:

Had a bit of time today so thought would do the suspension properly ...

    Fork measurement in air: 124mm
    With rider (no kit): 82mm

    Was 42mm ...
    Preload - 7 3/4 turns

    Preload - 6 turns
    Now 38mm

Compression was 3 turns, now 1 3/4 turns
    Rebound was 1 3/4 turns now 1 1/4 turns

    Shock in air: 620mm

With rider (no kit) 585mm (4th notch)
With rider (no kit): 587mm (5th notch)
With rider (no kit) 590mm (6th notch)

    35mm.. standard
    33mm... Set at 5th notch
    29mm ... Set at 6th notch

    Left on 6th notch

    Compression ... 2 1/2 turns now 1 1/4 turns
    Rebound ... 2 1/4 turns now 1 turn

With full kit on that should bring the bike to 40mm front, 30mm rear which is about right.

    15 full turns.

Why is mine set at 12 Turns for 38mm then if everyone else's is around 6??

Also if 7 3/4 was showing 42mm how can (less) 6 turns be showing 38mm? Surely it's now showing 9 turns (15-6) and the 7 3/4 was previously 7 1/4 ( does that make sense?) Or do I have it wrong?

    Exactly that ... 15-6 = 9 ...

I forgot you measure comp and rebound fully in and preload fully out ;)
