After giving up for now with the hassle etc, i have found the Vaseline has actually worked and I've also managed to fix the popper with the help of a tiny screwdriver, a centre punch, a hammer and loads of fiddly grief and swearing... Wish i had got the name of the sales guy i spoke to at HGB... I want to let him know his a t**t, and help him realise how important good customer service is ! Thanks again everyone for your support and input.. Ill let you know if this ever results in me throwing the helmet through their window
