I'm just pricing up in case the worse happens at cadwell, don't wanna go there with only crashing in mind cos it will take all the fun out of the day, but it would be stupid to go there thinking its not gonna happen

Yep you're right as it didnt happen to me when pushing too hard or overcooking a corner, I just had a freak accident from knocking one too many gears down without noticing.

Something to bare in mind mate.... I slid the bike on the left side (cheap side) and it didn't smack the floor luckily as the rear came round it just slid. I'd just fitted the 700quid Yoshi on the right side so could have been major tears for me.

Saying that though my accident happened on the last session and had been happily firing it around the track all day without too much bother so don't think you will have an accident just be prepared that it can happen but this is the best place for it rather than on the road where you could slide into any number of hard objects. ;)

Yeah you're right and as I discussed with the firebloke it is a risk, but worth taking I suppose, if its something I enjoy (which I know I will) then I will look into getting myself a dedicated trackbike and keep the blade for ride outs and touring. I survived the ring last year and that was swarming with idiots in cages, at least on a track and in the novice group everyone will be taking it fairly steady?

Novice group is a great group to find your legs in as you can putput around if you're not feeling too confident and you're no worse than anyone else out there ;)

I,ve been talking with Diana (I really don,t think that would be her real name TBH) from Neverland re a fairing kit for my 08. All good. Prompt replies and all that
Gonna go for the Carreras myself. It,s something like £264 and £95 post and packaging. You gotta take a chance for prices like that. Marshal Red Devil(I think that,s his handle) and who is also a member, recently bought some exhaust bits and pieces from my RR6 over here in Belfast, and he has a Rothmans Kit on his Blade from Neverland. Says it,s spot on. BTW Marshal, did the bits do ok? What,s the chances of him spotting this post when I forgot to tell him my username. Slim I,d say.

China kits are OK, but a couple of 'pinch points' when fitting are the tail unit (mine never fitted right to line up with the undertray section, and the front left corner by the light would not all fit together - know another 08 bike with same problems.

That said for the money the finish was good, it looked decent and got loads of thumbs up

Meant to add, after a years use lots of the fixings were snapping / cracking so when I smashed it up in France it was not the end of the world

Still got a couple panels left in my garage somewhere that have not made it the tip yet

Just spoke via the net with Neverland, they do not do 2012/13 fairings yet for the Blade, as was after the new go even faster Repsol scheme!!

update: have contacted auctmarts.com and they are able to do the latest 2013 motogp Repsol colours for the 12/13 blade. Just waiting for a few more questions to be answered then will give them a go(probably) and place an order :D

I'll be interested to hear your opinion of it when it comes as I'm very tempted!

Just a quick question YT, are these for your track bike? If so, I would personally go for fibreglass fairings as they are much easier to repair and cheaper. Granted they will be finished in a plain white, but you can at least just opt for a plainer colour scheme that is far easier to replicate if you bin the bike.

Yeah for sure mate, I'll post up pics when it arrives. My plan though is to enjoy the bike as it is for now and do it all over the winter ;)

Just ordered a set of fairings for my 2013 Blade from Auctmarts, in China\Hong Kong. They have a so called e bay page but from what I could see its a fake e bay page looking at the http address, but the pay pal etc is all legitimate and I have used my Credit card on pay pal just in case. I did a bit of research on reviews of their product and most were fine over the years. As they appear to be in Hong Kong, e mail replies generally pretty good. So I have paid my money and set up my account with them just waiting on what happens next. I guess it will be sending them photos of my custom design, namely Repsol motogp 2013 colours. Fairings will be for track days etc . So we shall see what happens next.......:)

I used the ebay seller MrYes for mine, other than 2 stickers not being lacquered in, couldn't really fault them for £340.

However as with anything like this, even replacing with OE, a certain amount of patience is needed. I brought my bike into the living room over Easter, had the heating on, movie playing in the background = less hammers needed.

I also did a panel at a time, replacing like for like making sure it fitted before moving on, and used the OE airducts etc rather than the ones they supplied.

Well today Auctmarts sent me an e mail with the photos of my track fairings for my 2013 Fireblade. There are a few things that I have picked up, mainly the Honda wings on the tank!!!!! and one of the "SOL" stickers on side fairing looks a different size/font, but this may be the angle of photograph, oh and a wavey red line on the front nose where it should be a straight line, I can live with that. E mailed them back regarding that mentioned. Pretty happy though(subject to fitting!!)
