That looks an excellent job, and to me, looks better quality than the Neverland stuff. Here,s a question Paul. Did you get hit with customs duty, and how does the overall price incl.of postage compare with Neverland? Hope you don,t mind me being nosey, but I,m deffo going for a new kit meself. Good luck with the fitting mate
The ABS in the description is the material it,s made from. I thought that as well before before I had a "lightbulb " moment
I am not 100% on this, but I think there is prob 1 factory but lots of re sellers who may order different paint schemes
I had a quick reply from Aucmarts regarding a few niggles as mentioned in my earlier post , they relied that they will rectify all points raised , so as far as customer service goes , top notch . The photo of the fairings were before they apply the top coat and seal it all in . I suspect that its their own spray shop but who knows . Does look like they just spread them out on street though !! Should get all done next week . I will have to check price paid but was ok . Live in jersey so may get stung for lower vat etc. all positive so far if a bit slow that's only -ve . Subject to fitting of course !!!!!!!!!
Knockhill Trackday 25/06/2013 - a set on Flickr These are cheap Chinese HRC rep ebay fairings. They are decent quality, look good and after modification and adjustment fit good. To get them to fit I had to file, drill and dremel every lug and clip. The front fairing tool me about 3 hours alone to modify so it fitted correctly. The plastics do feel a bit brittle, when putting screws into some of the inner fairing the plastic lug did crack a bit. I cannot remember which make these Chinese ones are as I hear others fit fine.
UPDATE: Well can't grumble as they said they will alter the highlighted points by me. I did e mail them with numerous high quality photos of the 2013 motogp Repsols as well as the Granthams ones to help them. I have to say i thought the white Repsol stripe was a bit too thick on the Grantham one. It does seem that the Red number plate board on the nose in the photos above will be bordered by orange on the left and right of the headlight and not white as per motogp bike etc but I suspect their design(?) guys did the best they could to make it look balanced with the way the fairings are constructed for this bike. Time will tell. I did say that I thought that the paint finish looked a bit dull and they replied that it was not clear coated yet and further stated that the White paint will not go Yellow as I have read on other sites, my thinking was to get a local spray shop to put the clear coat on, but will give them the benefit. Should be finished next week.
Update: Well the adjustments have been made, to be honest they look pretty good and only need to be clear coated, once the Repsol sticker has been put on the tank with the circular badges. The adjustments took about a week. The photo does look like the spray shop is in a back street somewhere!!!!! We will see what they are like when they come down and more importantly how they fit.
Update: Aucmarts have now dispatched the fairings from Hong Kong, on the 16th of July. The tracker reference shows them awaiting air freight , to where I have no idea. I paid the basic price for the fairings and I see that you can pay more for express service, alas I have not gone for that, so lets see how long it takes to get to jERSEY
Arrived in uk 17th....wow pretty darn quick. Hopefully not sat in warehouse for too long before dispatched down to my home and that when it arrives it will be without damage!!
I will dig a link out ( or try to) of what I had to when fitting mine. I would def add a fixing each side where the side panels meet the belly pan to keep all that together, I would never trust that to stay together and andyp7 had his break apart while on the move and flap about
I guess I will b the guinea pig for the newer 2012/13 fairings then unless yours are these? Seems may b radio 2 and numerous cups if tea then when I get to fit them!!
Main think is have loads of tubs to put fixings in etc. - and take loads of photos as you go along to help put it back together / route pipes and cables in side panels / under headlamp etc. And make sure the tilt switch goes back in the right way up (not me caught out, but others yes)
No idea if this will open / be viewable in public - if not I'll find a way to cut and paste it into a new thread: 2008 Blade Bodywork swap - project / work in progress - Honda Motorcycles - FireBlades.org
Just read your linked thread... Very interesting... Me thinks lots of tea and take my time and not speak to neighbours!!!!!! Is the paint work still looking good and did the supplied heat shielding do its job!
Anyone heard of fairingplus? They've come up with a conversion kit to convert your 08-11 into a 12-13. Fairings + new headlights for $700, seems like a pretty good deal. Already sprung for OEM fairings after my last crash, otherwise would've gone for these.
