Just taken mate to Hunts - he looked at the used bikes and had been given a couple of leads of here for private almost new bikes, but the deal on brand new 2012 bike on a new reg was too good. He's traded in his K6 or K7 Gixer and will pay £150 a month for a brand new bike - £10,400 I think 0% over 48 months he did it over and chose an anniversary one (they still have a few)
Just looked at a deal on a HP4, looks like a nice bike but will I be any better off with a BMW with lots of toys?
I looked at an HP4 from Chester Motorad but being as their Bikes are so in demand when all the figures with high interest were worked out with a £4K deposit the HP4 worked out at nearly £18.5K! The Blade came in at £10.5K all in over 3 years. Yes the Beemers nice but it aint worth £2K more than a Blade never mind £8K!
Damn thats good, im Just looking at the 20th Aniversary in white. After seeing Barney's today, me likey a lotty
I keep saying after buying my bike from John at Hunts that overall on a deal they are very hard to beat. A couple of dealers may have their bikes priced at £10k but when you get a p/ex they knock it off what your part exchanging. I found John beat any overall deal for me, friends and others I have put on to him. As mentioned above, £1k off list, 0% for up to 60 months, free delivery and even free Michael Dunlop mug !! it's a no brainer !
Total price for the HP4 came to £19683 over two years. A standard S1000RR came to under £14000 over two years and Inc a free track day and heated grips + alarm. Still going to keep my blade.
RR is a nice tool and did consider, but insurance was twice the amount so decision was made, Blade it is. Another plus for the blade is the fuel consumption a lot better. Discovered the reason for this was the immobiliser wasn't thatcham approved!
I think that's a good deal considering the 0% but do you really want to keep a bike for 5 years. I'm on my 3rd bike in a year ha ha.
forget the finance, if you swap that much, new bikes are a no no for depreciation..... personally, i think it doesnt matter on 0% over long periods, because you can clear it anytime with no penalties... so just offset it at trade in, wedge off, or let run if you dont change. you can also pay off chunks as you go if you feel like it. makes it very flexible. good way to keep payments low, and your money in your bank in case you need it for anything else.
I know what you're saying, the gixxer I had was 2% over3years. Cheaper than a bank loan all day long.
Not sure what the book MPG figures are, but a mate has a S1000RR and I have a 2012 Blade - the amount of petrol we put in if riding together is virtually identical. I didn't realise the BM Immobiliser isn't Thatcham approved - surprised at that!
It was something a viewed on the You Tube, BMW was spitting out about 35MPG as opposed to the Blade which i get 48MPG with hard riding. Definitely not thatcham, BMW refuse to pay the money, try your quote with and without a thatcham approved like the Honda HISS, i did was half the price. Even there alarm is thatcham approved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0deKI2kULQ
So, any horror stories with Hunts anyone? As the helpful post from Honda.ima & Alblade has got me thinking about a new blade...
Hunts supplied mine in March this year. Top deal. Top service. Delivered. First service straight forward. No complaints at all although a lower fairing panel bolt went walkabout but new bolt posted out to me the next day.....
Re fuel I think the BMW and Blade are pretty equal - both can get a good 160+ mile tank range at c.50mpg
Hi Mr H. I saw the HRC Blade (2012 colours) at a small bike show in Manchester in January which Hunts exhibited at. After a few weeks pondering I decided to go for it, and the rest was all over the phone with John. It was very straight forward. Go for it !!!!
I'll soon be able to enjoy this view again - the current wife's got this funny idea about the conservatory being for plants, seats & relaxing in! ? View attachment 13411
