Planning on getting a vid up of the sound at some point soon. I love it. I like most of what Ive seen but apart from on the Padgetts race bikes I've not actually seen this one anywhere else yet. New to Fireblades though as I only picked up last Friday! Plus I love the sound of the Arrow cans. Really raspy! I don't think you can go far wrong though looking at what everyone else has. They all look great.
Jezzo that reminds me of my coal fire days how can they possibly get away with that there's no excuse really £700 worth of recycled tinder boxes
I can definitely vouch for that mate Yup almost sounds as good as mine That's to the only zorst I would have apart from my beloved GpPro Real quality with nice touches like the red detailing just inside the pipe! Cools as if you ask me!
Dyno was done on Thursday morning 166 rwbhp and 80tq same bhp as carbon but down 2 on tq as its shorter I guess.
I know this is a very old thread but I thought I’d chip in anyway. I’m a Motorsports Fabricator, I make stuff like this all day everyday. There’s lots of different grades of stainless and they’re not all rust proof. I can’t remember completely off the top of my head but I think a cheap grade like 303 is prone to corrosion. And something like 316 is the most resistant. It’s commonly used in the marine sector...tells you all you need to know.
Hi Redeye. Might stainless steel almost be redundant now because of being replaced by titanium? (I'm merely an interested observer)
No mate, it definitely isn’t. Stainless is cheap as chips and solid as a rock...Ti is ludicrously expensive and very fragile unless it’s been welded 100% correctly. A good stainless system will last for longer than the bike in most cases. Ti is an awesome material for an exhaust although as I said it needs to be manufactured to very exact standards, it depends on how much you value weight savings? Best systems I’ve seen are Arrow and Austin, although I’ve heard Austin have some bead reviews on delivery times. Personally if I had £2k kicking around to spend on an exhaust I’d commission someone like goodfabs in Aylesbury. They’ll make you a proper Motorsport type system...ask for incolnel headers, Ti link pipe, and either Ti or carbon can...actually I might start doing it myself
I have the racefit black with the growler end, They are very noisy so if used in town may cause issues, I did a ECU reset which works quite well.
Looks really nice mate, always thought that the Akrapovic looks a little low though, I’d like to see it lifted a few degrees to offer extra clearance...bike is absolutely mint though
Yes Austin make some lovely stuff mate...that looks proper Motorsport. I went for a job interview there last year as a Fabricator, decided against it only because of the location. But one of their lads has left and is setting up his own thing...watch this space
Racefit is also as good look and follows the same angle of the sub-frame whereas the Austin doesn't: Image courtesy of Racefit Ltd: https://store.racefituk.com/collections/honda-cbr1000-rr/products/honda-cbr1000-rr-08-12-growler2
