Quick detailer either meguiars or AD whenever it's dirty. Done in the shed then waxed if needed. Only washed with water twice as got laminate in the shed and don't want puddles fair weather rider tho so never gets too dirty tbh.
Mr sheen? Never come across that before! Does it have to be mr sheen or does any other brand of furniture polish do the same job?
Anyone any tips for keeping wheels clean , has anyone tried one of those repellent waxes, I usually clean my white wheels with wd40 as it takes the chain grease off easily but they are covered in dirt again after 1 spin , Joys of white wheels
Hi Levin. As a fellow 'white wheel owner' and persistent cleaner (OCD?) I understand your problem!! A preventative measure is to not over lubricate the chain. Inevitably, we get 'fly off' but if we're using a quality lubricant (I use WD 40 Chain Lube: https://wd40.co.uk/wd-40-specialist-motorbike/chain-lube/ ) more stays on the chain than on the rear wheel. I ONLY use Mr Sheen for the wheels. As a polish and waxer, it leaves a wax finish that makes subsequent cleaning a simple matter. By using WD 40 to clean wheels, you are removing any wax or polish you've previously applied. Just stick to Mr Sheen and you'll be rewarded!!
Or......use wd40 to get the oily crud off, buff it dry and then use Mr Sheen to give that polished feel that dust and dirt won't adhere too!! Just sayin
Use this chain lube....best stuff there is! Absolutely no fling whatsoever. This means you can simply wipe your wheel with a damp cloth. Then as the fussy fannys have mentioned above....just polish with Mr Sheen.......I find my wheels are going too fast for anyone to notice tbh
You won't be disappointed. It's superb. Needs applying a little more often than some others but well worth it
Thanks will give the Mr sheen a try after cleaning with wd40 , I'm currently using that wd40 chain lube , I used to use chain wax , which was good but I didn't have white wheels at the time Thanks lozzy iv seen the wurth chain lube mentioned before I must give it a try
Wurth chain lube is awesome. Can literally spray on before going out and it doesn't fling! I always do mine when I get home tho but it never drips or splatters anywhere. Highly recommend it
I've been using muc off chain lube but it goes everywhere.i wash with autoglym as I've stacks from old job and Polish with the same. It's been medical cleaning wipes on the wheels then done. Need to get some ace stuff as use bike every day
When you clean your bike, do you spray the whole thing (hose pipe and finger, not high pressure) or do you specifically wipe fairings and mirrors and dash, avoiding getting water on wiring and on the radiator and bolts etc where it might cause corrosion?
