Here's one of my R1 from the Millenium TT. I like this picture because it's doing around 140mph coming out of a 30 zone. I don't ride on the road very much these days, so this is the only bike I keep road legal. Use it for work occasionally, a spot a trail riding and competing in Long Distance Trials.
just found a load of old photo's so I put them through a scanner my nsr125 rk along with my future brother in laws cbr250rr then my RG125 FUN this was us doing a lap of Ireland, right around the coast.....used 6 spark plugs along the way lol after a high speed highside and cartwheel I was only an apprentice so I had to paint and repair it myself after that I had a 91 vfr400, the only pic I have of it then I pre-ordered a gsxr-600, was one of the first in N.ireland and was a great new look, since then I think the design has got tired with it being a game of spot the difference between years. then from there it was my first blade, doesnt feel like seven years ago
Best Mate gave me a call saying he needed a hand getting something out the van , i rolled up and this is what it was , our favourite bike as youngsters the mighty honda VFR400 NC30 he took it up and down the road pulled up next to me and said "here you are , have a go" ummed and arrrhed and thought ahhhh go on then both with no licience :/ ..naughty boys but we knew how to ride as we had old bikes back in the days around in fields and both have full car licience so knew how roads worked. got back with the biggest grin on my face and BOOOM! i was hooked .....checked everywhere till i found the right one for me and here she is , still have her now and will never be parted still no licience , waited till the warmer weather came and both done our test together ...passed! happy days! by this time the bug had really kicked in and we was out every given chance and i mean every! haha then i fell in love with the CBR's and here she is my big baby Then joined this Lovely bunch of peeps and the love is still getting stronger for my bikes that is haha
Quality stimo - still got my nc30, wanted one for years and like you will never sell the little thing.
your nc30 look well nice there stimo! jimbo it must be a thing about hanging on to them, couldnt part with mine either, still great fun on the twisties.
Quality mate.... Looks lovely that. Know what you mean, special special bike, and what else looks that good after 20 years!? Other than an rc30.... Mine needs a little tlc and haven't used it in a couple of years. Got to sort it for spring though, criminal not using it.
i like that! it doesnt look like it needs tidying up looks well nice! love them colours! there just mini rc30,s jimbo
The wheels need powder coating, chain and sprockets, battery and few marks here and there.... I want it a1 tbh but always seem to have other thing to throw my cash at lol.... But need to pull my finger out!!
to be fair mine needs a bit of TLC them pics make it look a little better than she really is i've just stripped carbs and had to change 3 of the carb valves as they had seized , checked float heights etc fitted R&G non drill crash protectors got a white RVF wheel to fit and a black one as a spare as she's a 17" for better tyre choice
stimo was thinking about a rvf wheel as well for better tyre choice do you have to do anything about altering the ride height from going from 18 to 17wheel? is there a ride height adjuster to fit on the wishbone arm? or do you not need to bother? thats a good idea about the sp1 calipers are you buying brackets for them to fit?
As this is turning into a bit of a VFR thread at the moment, here's a picture of the best bike I ever owned. I truly do wish I'd never sold this one, it had a lot of histroy and would be worth a fortune now. Full Tony Scott F1 engine, Maxton Suspension and wheels with a Micron full race system and Dunlop D364 race tyres. This had 120bhp at tthe rear wheel way back in 1990, which was about as much as any 750 had anywhere. It lost oil pressure at the TT in 1994 when the oil pick-up pipe stress fractured, this caused the crank to seize. A new HRC crank cost £1100, the Titanium con rods were £303 each and the 16 valves cost £22 each... all plus vat! I sold it in 1997 when I found that I could lap faster on the new CBR600 than I could the RC30. The next owner put it back on the road, I believe it is still about somewhere. Again... I'm so sorry about the leathers, it does make me look rather like a giant pink hot air balloon! Pete
Ok not got pics for all but...... Ist bike DT50 Honda CG 125 Honda CB 125 RS (nothing RS about it lol) DT 125 Suzuki RG 125 GSXR 600 k4 (had the big accident on this and took 2 years to learn to walk again ect) Then finally got courage to get on this...... Which I modified like this........ I then rode my mates VFR400 for about 4 months saving my penny's It looked like a mini moto with my fat arse on it lol Then saved enough for this heap.... Then bought the blade Plus a few more toys.....
1st czech rocket CZ/Jawa 350 2nd Honda Cbx 650 3rd Honda Cbr 1000F 4th Kawasaki Zrx 1100 r (still got it) 5th Ducati 748S 6th Honda Vtr Sp1 7th Kawasaki ZX10r (i did have a massive crash on it....still got some problems)
yes you need to upgrade to RFV NC35 suspension link as one of the hole is like 8mm closer in giving you 35mm increase in height but i've fitted a bmw rear shock which gives me the height instead as for the calipers yes i have rick oliver caliper brackets so they just bolt straight on into place
cheers for that info very helpfull can i just ask what bmw shock you are using and what alterations you had to do for it to fit?
My first bike was a ZXR400-H2, I can't find any pics of it but it was similar to this with the ZX7R green/purple/white paint scheme. Then I had my GSXR600-K4
