Hi guys, Thefirebloke popped in for a brew before heading home, IcarusGreen, nice to meet you mate, top bloke, Alblade and myself. We set off from airport and had our chippy tea, that wasn't too bad tbh then headed off for some pics before the lights came on. Pulled onto the tower headland for some photo's and then set off through the lights to Bispham, said good bye to Icarus who had to return his dads bike. "hope you fueled it for him" That just left Alblade and myself, so back to the headland for more photos, then down to the pleasure beach for more photos, run down to StarrGate and homeward bound. A busmans holiday for me, but you know what I really enjoyed myself, thanks. I was very surprised how easy it was to move about on two wheels, the traffic wasn't that heavy I didn't take many pictures, but I think Alan managed to get one or two and the GoPro videoing my filtering techniques. I'm sure they will appear here soon, Cheers folks
All was good - very different ride out - perfect weather for it - busy traffic but should be the odd quality pic off the box brownie - just about to resize them down and upload them. My bike is now covered in horse Sh!t - def way to much of that all over Blackpool sea front and it makes it stink!
Well I went out and sat in the garden watching the multicoloured solar lights gradually run down to nothing then fired a party popper off and necked a can of the black stuff. Golden Mile my arse!
Met up with Gary, Steve and Andy (Aka Icarrus Green) as agreed so few quick pics before being escorted to the Chippy by Gary's work My re-styled 'shed of a blade' let the side down Good chat over decent fish and chips (including red sauce) , glance out of window and say 'A big yellow tram has just gone past' - Gary says 'Big yellow tram - not sure wle have one of them' - 2nd person checks 'Yep Gary, big yellow tram' - Gary still confused (now remember Gary works in Engineering for the trams... - what do we see when we leave... A Big Yellow tram shaped Engineering thing! Steve needed to head off now so final group pic Was not long before the world famous Tower was in view, so grabbed a photo, Then managed 'action shot ' of base of tower, bikes and a moving tram! Part 2 The seafront has had some big money spent to improve it as below Tried to capture bike and sunset but compact could not really manage it At this point (while trying to get said picture / one with pier in shot) funniest moment happened - this old woman stood in totally the wrong spot - and just chatted / moved into worse spot - all the time Gary and Andy pissing themselves in laughter (and me to be honest) Think I got her best side... Further attempt at sunset shot! Couple more Bike and Tower shots from different heights Then onto the 'strip' to head North! Part 3 to follow!
Part 3 The traffic on bikes was fine - no need for manic filtering - stopped off at this famous tram on way back This bloke fits lightbulbs in it - any lamps out? 'That Alan is the train tram - I put light bulbs in that' Getting better at composition and properly dark now 120' Panorama done on camera Finally got a really clear (of people etc.) and hopefully sharp shot of bike on the prom! Part 4 to follow
Part 4 Moved along traffic to final spot by the Pleasure Beach Light was a challenge again for a compact camera Technique was improving - this is possible the best shot - was using tripod and timer to release shutter RAF tram arriving! And its arrived That's the lot done - video will take way longer to filter through but gives an idea - We left by 20:00 having started at about 18:00 after fish and chips Thanks to Gary for leading and organising - shame a few more could not make it but appreciate not great timing for everyone - I would not want to do this on a Fri or Sat night when drink in full flow - everyone we spoke to was really polite and good natured - Bikes got loads of attention / interest at all the stops.
