Never worn ear plugs and never felt the need.. Mind I don't commute or ride for too long on the bike. Plus it's not that loud. May try a set of foam ones to see the difference but hate faffing about enough of a chore putting all the gear back on after you stop!
I replaced my link pipe with a high level one, side effect was I can now run without a baffle and not go deaf as the exhaust is further back from my ears. Or you can get those diy ear plug kits that mould to the inside of your ear and then set, they work well enough to even block the sound of the wife snoring
