Send them back and just get the Bluetooth speakers e.g.: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle...p/B07GFM3MRK/ref=psdc_340401031_t1_B079D57TVL
Yeah, I think my annoyance at earpieces falling out en-route got the better of me & made me anxious for a better system. I agree that I don't need to use the other functions, but it seems a bit like buying a PS5 to play Tetris. I use Google maps on my mobile as I get real time info but, thanks to @bazzashadow , will have a look at others. My commute is from Southend to Hackney - only 42 miles, but an hour & a quarter. Frequent diversions (I hate Yamahas!) & closed roads, so memorising a route is pointless. I don't mind spending on good gear, but spending pointlessly.... Pointless. As an aside. I ordered a Rukka Naavo(?) One-piece in case we're not locked down over winter. Got a medium (40" chest) but now need some 8' long legs to make it fit! They're £400 off at SBS, if anyone's interested & own a pair of Gulliver's legs. Back to speakers. A pair of speakers that'll reliably connect to my phone & easily charge up every other day is probably all I (think I) need. I'm wary of, & morally against, Chinese rubbish. Don't like Amazon either! I like Fireblades though! Oh, and beer. I like beer.
Interesting thread. Has anyone put a bluetooth system into a Shoei X Spirit 3? I appreciate its a 'racing' helmet and not best suited to such things but I like the helmet a lot and only just got it. If someone has done it what system did you use? On the subject of motorbike sat navs, I found an app called Scenic for the phone that seems good. it also does curvy routes. You can also import routes from other apps or load a GPX file. The app is free and you can buy credits to use for the better features but they are cheap (99p). I downloaded the trial and it includes 10 credits. There is also a web app for PC use and I believe you can work out a route on the PC and then transfer it to the phone app.
