Maybe you've not ridden it hard enough... Ever filtered traffic? feathered the brakes? Had to make an emergency stop immediately after (Or even during) a normal braking manoeuvre? Grabbed the brake suddenly?

Oh... You not having problems just means you haven't had problems. The failure rate is far too high for this B.O.S... The gy who's asking needs to know that the brakes can and will fail. Usually at the time you really need them to work.

Yup I've removed the entire system from my bike and it's all the better for it.

I have changed the disc's callipers and fitted Goodrich brake lines to my ABS Fireblade which makes it an none ABS Fireblade now.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I bought my 09 ABS blade back in April and have been fighting fowlers Bristol and black horse (my finance agreement) under the sales of goods act. They're trying eventing in their will you deny it and claim they have never heard of the problem at all. Lost my cool yesterday and went up there to record the brake failing while stationary. Got a video here if you want me to upload it? Also. Does anyone actually know the law on insurance IF you remove the system? Currently I can't insure it as I have to deem the bike 'fit for purpose' which obviously I can't. Need some more options before I send a court hearing letter..
