Just bought personal cover yesterday off RAC for £75. Home start, roadside assist, unlimited tow distance, in / on any vehicle. I travel length of UK for work in my car so need full reputable recovery. I only need it for punctures on the bikes really as both are relatively new and they tend to be reliable these days.
That’s a very good price for RAC, normally they would charge double of that! RM Which product did you use to plug the puncture? I have done many thousands on punctures repaired with the tyre off but would like to carry an emergency repair kit with me when appropriate
Yes, I saw that offer. All I want is to be picked up and taken home, don't start trying to mess with my bike. I fix it myself.

Idiots guide to using it here not calling you an idiot but I carried this thing around without actually knowing the components or how to use it . It either didn’t come with one or I accidentally chucked the blade used to cut off the plug excess. I’ve stuck a leather man multi tool in the kit instead so I have pliers as well as a blade to cut the plug excess. I’m far from Oxford’s biggest fan but this Seems to be holding well. I’ve done 700 miles (mostly nationals on the motorway) on it so far with seemingly no dramas. I checked PSI 5 days in a row after reinflating the tyre and no loss at all. I now do a check before my first day back at work and it’s not lost anything.
I picked up a nail in the front on a reasonably clear piece of motorway and ran to a halt. Once I had 'recovered my composure' I got on the phone. The AA turned up and took me home about 50 miles.
As Empty_Ten above, just a standard rubber plug. Couldn't believe how easy it was to do. 5 min job. Easier than fixing puncture on kids tubed bicycle.
New cars. Alot dont come with spare tyres so a simple puncture can turn in to chuffing nightmare. Motorway blow out.. recovered home as it's late but you still have a shagged tyre when you wake up the next day .
They were running an offer over the bank holiday weekend which I think expired on the Monday evening?
thanks for the repair kit info. Those breakdown guys will be making a lot of money replacing dead batteries as people start using their cars. Off course bikers know the importance of keeping thir in a good state of charge. Do we??
