Glad you got them Jamie, I am sharp if I do say so myself, it was hard not to buy them just for the wall display! Did the late fork have the dowels to locate them on, I've not fitted them to a 2012 yet?
No Arthur its flat after you remove the shims, but as soon as you fit the bolts there is no movement The alignment is better than the OE callipers, I can spin the wheel now as I couldn't before ? Thanks for the heads up once again Arthur, they are awesome and a real bargain !! Your a star
They will work well on ya non ABS Bike Jamie! Daz, MATE! Don't be tempted to risk ya safety matey, sell em to me and cut ya losses!
Are you still here jay? Your like mother hen pecking away. Another forum member has pmd me wanting to buy the lot lol. Spoke to a few people today and they say fit em . Not replaced my 6000rr tracker I sold Sat year yet so will be getting something when the Right bike pops up (blade hopefully) think ill keep hold of the hpks and rcs till I'm sorted. Doubt one I buy will have them on so will keep hold for now.. D you want to borrow them
Can vouch RCS on an ABS is a worthy mod. My preference is 20 ratio (on an ABS), 18 too 'soft' and too much travel. Done 1000+ miles on it commuting, feckers pull out on me all the time, and no problems thus far. Hard braking from 'motorway' speeds not a problem( dry,wet ,icy) and emergency braking immaculate too, the ECU/BBS deals with it no problem no dash error only serious controlled braking. Even had my mrs on the rear and had to brake pronto still no problem! Pull that lever at a red light and peeps around you will think you are a braking GOD!!!!! To all you ABS owners out there have no doubts with the RCS it works, have no fears!! EDIT bbs = ABS!, and my spelling /grammar is poo
Chuck some brembo calipers in as well and jobs a good en! Sounds like you have it Sussed slick and I'll be following suit .. Did you do all your lines braided or just the lines from the mc to caliper? Saw your other thread you posted last year. Roll on brembo abs stopping power
Just the fronts are braided lines at the moment with the RCS. The rears are OEM at the moment but more than powerful for my needs. The RCS is much more 'direct', this seems to suit my style of brake hard and late , the ABS seems to handle this nicely!. Very interested to see how the ABS manages with the M4 or in your case the Gp4s.
CarpiMoto - Brembo Set Monobloc M4 34 Radial Calipers 108mm mount I asked carpimoto about using the brembo mc and calipers on the abs blade.. See the last question on the link as it's mine..they said its fine to use the setup but change the lines. When you fitted your r@g lines slick did you still have to do the full abs bleed even tho you didn't change the other lines from pump and modulator etc? Did changing lines from Mc to calipers with a conventional bleed do the job ok?
The lines I got from R&G replace the whole front setup. Ie the lines to and from the ABS pipes On both occassions (change of lines and change of MC) I performed an ABS bleed. For the ABS bleed I only bled the valves. The manual says bleeding the power unit is only required if the valve is removed. Not having to bleed the power unit reduces the time required substantially. The main thing is to ensure you have bled the conventional lines as much as possible to prevent introduction of air into the the ABS gubbins. It normally takes me 2-3 days elapsed to do this bleed, the bleed itself is quite simple just follow the instructions word for word. On the first day I bleed only the conventional lines then leave overnight with the lever held down with velcro. This is how I perform a conventional bleed: http://1000rr.co.uk/maintenance/11853.htm Second day another conventional bleed followed by the bleed of the ABS valves then again lever held down with velcro overnight How to do ABS bleeds http://1000rr.co.uk/maintenance/10733.htm http://www.expandingknowledge.com/J...ABS/Maintenance/Combined_ABS_Air_Bleeding.pdf Then on the third day a mini bleed from each of the conventional nipples. A tip, buy a cheap bottle of dot 4 and one of ATE racing super blue. Use the cheap bottle to completely flush the system of the old stuff and bleed as much air out of the conventional system. When you are happy there is no more air in the conventional lines and start the ABS bleed use the Super blue. When you get the blue stuff out of the nipples you can be sure both the conventional and ABS lines are fully flushed and bled. Good luck!
When I had my HEL lines fitted it took my Dealer 2 days to get the system bled properly, they had a right Mare and even had to get Honda Master Tech involved from Head Office! This is why I wont be buying those TRW Rear sets someone linked to as these also require a line replacement and I aint going through all that shyte again for anything. Mines fine now so I aint messing with it.
Eh Daz, I just read over their response and to me it reads to fit the non abs lines to an abs equipped bike in an attempt to bypass any interference from the abs systems interacting on the brakes as they are no longer part of the brake system! Not sure how the ECU would respond to that mind you and could possibly fling up abs error lights on the dash! Carpimoto was the only company I found that posted any reference to not fit m4's to an abs bike, found loads of American race parts companies listing both the abs and non abs equipped bikes tho and other that simply just don't say anything! Even Brembo themselves list the abs bikes with the same part numbers as the non abs bar the brake discs (due to them having speed sensor cages fitted to those) with only 1 mention of notes/warnings and that was with regards to the rear Brembo caliper not fitting stock wheels only marchesini wheels fit.
Hmmmmm.. Bollucks I give up I think it's better I keep the rcs and mc for the trackbike when I eventually find one.. I may just paint the tokio Calipers like brembos .. Slick has bossed it tho and bri is on with it.. Could always sell em sinewave for 300 quid if I dont use em My head is getting pickled lol.. Cheers for the heads up tho shinysideup
It's just not worth the Myther is it Daz? Go on................ Sell em me instead and sleep well at night!
