Currently running my first set of Metz M7RR's and well impressed. Most of the rear tyre used withing 40 miles from new running 36F 38R and feel good, lots of grip. Unsure on the tyre life as it's my first set of Metz but i'm putting them up against the Dunlop Sportsmarts I loved. If they are as good or better then Metz will have lots of my money in the future
I had PP3s put on mine and rode it home from Demon Tweeks to wigan in the rain, even new they had grip and feel. When I've been caught out in the rain the feel is so good I can light the back wheel up and powerslide it on demand. As the weathers warming up they're just getting better and better. You've gotta run factory pressure though or it feels very squirmy. Took mine out in January, pressure was fine in garage (heated to 18 degrees), went to meet a couple of our sales guys for a coffee because the sun was out, temperature was 3 degrees and it was dark when I set off back home....could feel the tires moving immediately.
These were posted up earlier (either here or PH - can't remember) - http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo....415&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=pilot-power Not sure how to tell if these are PP 2CT's, PP3's, etc. though? £120 a pair seems an utter bargain however. As are the £150 a pair Pirelli Angel ST's - http://www.bikespeeduk.com/pirelli-...e-pair-120/70-zr17-190/55-zr17/prod_2161.html All that said, everyone seems to speak highly of the Metz M7RR's so will be giving them a go soon.
I'm not sure on your type of riding, but if you stay off the track on the bike I have to recommend Pirelli Angel GT's. They aren't pure sports tyres, rather sports-tourers, but every review reveals that their performance is not only right up there with pure sports tyres in both wet and dry, but the toughened central profile will give significantly more road miles without squaring off. Plus, the tread pattern looks really cool!!!!
I had S20 Evo. I liked tyres but they really gone fast. I've done less then 2000 on back tyre. Not heaving them any more.
Excuse my ignorance but will this links through to a pair having a rear tyre 190/55 ZR17 whereas Honda states 190/50 ZR17. The 'correct' pair is selling at £221.50 as opposed to £149. Is the 55 ok to fit or would there be problems?
I have ordered the 55 profile as well as a lot of people on here have said its better for change of direction etc. we will see
Just had pilot power 3's fitted today . All in at £235 , glad I went to Honda as there's an ecu update just came out for my bike for better fuelling etc. bike seems lots smoother low down @ 2-3k
Just dropped mine down for new rubber tonight. Going for pp 1ct front and rear. Did the rear of my set of Oem s20's in 1700 miles. Hopefully PP's will last for 2000. Had a screw in the rear for the last hundred miles or so. Pulled it out and pressure stayed up, looked bad though as it cut a 150mm groove in the tread where the screw had been pushed round under acceleration. Anyone got thoughts on speed rating. PP's are W rated 169 mph I think. Blade will pull 185... This worries me a bit. I do have a couple of long quiet straights on my way to work, if you know what I mean.
I've had my bike up to 170mph on the PP3s and they were fine. Not too many places you want to be that kind of speed on the public highway though Get caught at that speed and your tyres will be the least of your worries. BTW, the PP3s have 2CT+, which means the hard compound runs underneath the soft compound to keep the tyre more stable during lean acceleration.
