Yeah mate see them all the time! Bri has a Triumph 675 which he has put away for the winter and Matt sold His CBR600 about 6 months ago. He has just become a daddy so priorities had changed for a while but he hopes to get another bike in the new year !
had the privilege of going to fowlers a few months back...two questions 1. does anyone really pay them stupidly high prices ? 2. why does all the "new" hrc and legends blades have new unused front tyres and shagged rear track tyres on them?
I know what you mean, a quid I paid for my can of Rio! Oh sorry you are on about the bike prices lol To be honest the only brad new bike I have owned I bought from fowlers, they were knocked down on price very easily to be Honest and I got a very good deal with very little effort unfortunately this bike ended up a complete write off at 2.5months old outside the BRI, yep was the one that nearly finished me off lol
I bought my Speed triple frop Phil there, very happy with it. But other than that I'm very happy with their cafe. and John may help us if we need some gear from a honda dealer as well as other on here? So handy if your local
the parts I am on about, they were looking near £30 for swingarm bobbins and xxx for screens huggers etc. I went to the cafe...still cant get used to that red mush you guys put on your frys.give me an ulster fry any day lol. the day I was over it was a triumph open day, I laughed as there was a few wild hog types running around with the immaculate leather patch jackets and saddle bags with tassels lmao
They are also good there for old parts, a friend has a wierd obsession with old trikes and its the only place he can get most parts
1: IMO they aren't stupidly high on bikes, new are MRRP and used are fair prices considering every used bike we take in is appraised and anything needing doing on that appraisal is done along with a PDI, service and MOT & tax (if less than 6 months remaining) before the bike goes out plus warranty comes with new and used bikes. 2: If the tyres are shagged thats cos that is how they came into us. If its shagged it gets replaced before going out. I'll always talk to serious buyers about deals and discounts and will be more than happy to help where I can with discounts for forum members. If theres anything anyone needs feel free to PM me and I'll see what I can do. I also know of bikes not available through Fowlers (ie privately) that I'll happily pass details on of if it helps someone out, and theres other contacts like a guy I deal with who has just picked up a 2009 red & black Blade that is going for, IMO, very very reasonable money and who also has just got back with a load of genuine Honda parts, majority brand new, for Fireblades at reasonable prices.
Anyone who got the freebie the other day might want to put this on there watch list HONDA FIREBLADE CBR900RR/1000RR 20TH ANNIVERSARY 1992-2012 EDITION PLAQUE | eBay Mines going on my tool box unless this goes really well lol
im not on about the bikes but rather the bike parts that were a hell of a lot more than what we pay over here (big windows?) as for tyres the three bikes must be from the same person as they all had the exact same pirelli tyres and all were totally ragged right to the edge but the front tyres had hardly any wear. If thats how you get them then I would get them changed as it screams track day bike when you see it and then you would question the true miles. but someone else did say you know when you've been fowlered (regarding parts) this isnt a dig at the company just my observations, have to say you do have the dealers over here beat when it comes to friendly staff and a good selection.
I think I know the bikes you mean, weren't from the same person but miles were genuine....loaned to a tyre manufacturer to do tests on, gets cheap sets to us in return. I agree entirely bout changing them but I can only moan at the showroom manager so much, he'll promise them changed but his overriding thoughts are spending the cash before the promise of cash coming in (ie change when a deal is done) whereas my view is that it's got to be done so do it now and I don't have to spend most of my time explaining that the bike hasn't been tracked to within an inch of it's life and get on with the fun stuff. Parts can be pricey but then again Fowlers are the biggest supplier to the trade outside of Honda UK. As I said if any parts are needed I can get a discount quote through work or look at outside contacts if it helps.
that clears that up, me and my mate who lives in weston couldnt figure out what was going on with the tyres.guy doing the desk in the honda section was quite friendly, had a good natter about all things bike. our biggest dealer over here wouldnt even be a quarter the size of your place. loved that KTM in the race colours you had, havent seen one like that before. have to plan another pub crawl and call in again.
Might have been me buddy, might have been me. Let me know when I'm always up for talking bikes and plying peole with freebies.
if it was you I think the conversation was about some of the road races we have over here.I flew over for a weekend pub crawl that weekend...thats drink dedication lol this was after we left fowlers, he wanted to show me the sights and let me taste "the rotten" beach front fish an chips lol Ciarán Connolly's photos | Facebook
lol, they all left you to sort the shop out. was just after I got home that I sold the ducati and bought my second blade......must have been all them legends blades that I was looking at.funny enough was chatting to the fella I was in with the other day about them 675 Triumphs, I still think the white one is an attempt to copy the styling of the 848 with the trellis frame and red on white.
Don't get me started on the TT books and dvds signed by John McGuiness there is stashed out the back too!!
