Matt, been to see my kids this evening and asked my oldest about building a desktop on your behalf, he builds them for himself and his mates. You want to see his set up; if I didn’t know better I would swear you could launch a space shuttle with it. Anyway, he has suggested a couple of web sites that you might want to have a look at: arbico.co.uk = you pick the bits you want based on your needs and they can either build it for you for about 50 quid labour or supply the bits & pcpartpicker.com = finds the parts you want from the cheapest source, place one order with them and hey do the rest. He says either are good dependant on what you want to do. He has just build a monster for my ex wife and her hubby for under a grand but reckons you can build a decent box off tricks for 400 to 600 quid dependant on your budget and what you want it to do.
