I'd prefer to substitute 'rich' with 'astute'.:D:D

Think I'll have to do the red or white rim tape on mine, although it is another task I struggle with for alignment.:(

Thanks. Those larger units look much better. I've used the Oxford ones with the small black thumb aligner, but they seem prone to a bit of movement - even when spinning the wheel on a stand.

    Anyone used this type?:

I can't believe my bad luck with the weather. All week i've been watching the forecast and Friday was supposed to be dry and now it's saying rain so a bike that's never seen the rain has got to be ridden home 200 miles in it

For 70 quid I hire a van or get Anyvan to freight it. https://www.anyvan.com/vehicle-delivery/motorcycle-delivery

Thanks Nigel but it's a bit late now with train tickets booked and paid for and i'm not sure the seller would be open to me not turning up tomorrow! I never went the route of booking a van to freight it as not done that before and don't know how you organise it with the seller in terms of payment and the seller needing to be there for the courier etc. Plus I trusted the forecast and was looking forward to riding it home

Just checked that Anyvan site and £168 for the job but I know the seller isn't about during the week and I was lucky he was off work tomorrow so I could collect it. I'll have to get it home and see how mucky it is and spray it down with the hose pipe and dry it off best I can.

The forecast is for light rain and dry later in the afternoon/evening so I could always hang on to leave as late as possible and hope the roads dry out quickly but face Friday/bank holiday weekend rush hour traffic.

Thanks Nigel. I've come up with an emergency plan if it really is crap weather - there is a Premier Inn local to where the bike is so if it comes to it i'll stay there overnight and ride the bike back Saturday.

You’ve lost me with the room comment lol

Its lovely and sunny here unfortunately if weather radar maps are to be believed its not going to stay like it. Just about to get on the train so got over 3 hours of looking out the window to see for myself

If you do get caught up in the rain, to dry it off I use paper towels to soak up all the crap - rinse it all off first as you say with the hose. Then get the garden vac and blow dry failing that you could always use the old lady's hairdryer

Good luck with the trip and make sure you get the mandatory pics up on here ASAP
