All now official - £2,800 and a fairly tidy 06 blade is mine:cool:! I also paid for a basic service and will have to fork out for a battery and tyres etc. Dealer couldn't spot any obvious major problems with it after from consumables which needed replacing.

So, onto buying bits for it, most importantly tyres as the current ones are utterly sh@gged! I've had a quick look at some of the info on the site and apologise for perhaps asking a repeated question – slightly overwhelmed by the millions of threads.

I am thinking some decent road tyres and I will then get some dedicated track tyres for that purpose, so decent wet performance, longevity but reliable grip are the key. Standard fitments are120/60 x 17 - 180/55 x 17 I think though lots of people here seem to be going 190/55 so happy to follow that lead unless some reason not to? The bike currently has a 190 racetec which was obviously for track-riding.

I have Michelins on my other bike which I like, so how about Pilot Power 2cts or Pilot Power 3s? Is there a big difference as the latter are much less expensive?

    Cheers for your help all.

Ah, thank you. MCN's reported specs are off in that case!

So, 190 on teh back then, but 50 or 55?

Thanks Ian - I saw that a lot of people here buy from Tyre Leader. Unfortunately they don't ship to Jersey in the Channel Islands where I am. Demon Tweeks do though, and with VAT off I can get a pair of PP3s for under £200.

Maybe a standard sized 50 is better by the sound of it.
