My last blade was an ex Ron Haslam bike bought from Castle honda in Castleford. Excellent bike never had a problem in the three years I owned it.
My tyres are generally ex Ron Haslam school ones, never had a problem with them - they change them so frequently if the bikes are serviced as much (think my mate Rob does them) they will be over serviced if anything. At least you know where its been used before, buying second hand ANYTHING could have happened to it before you get it.
Was at a dealer today and we were talking about this. There are around 3 dealers that are allowed to sell these once RH has finished with them. They are constantly serviced by three mechanics at the RH school and then fully checked over once returned to the dealer. All run in properly and you will probably end up with a better bike than one sold to an individual that thrashes the balls of it yet doesn't spend the time or money looking after it properly. How many bikes do we see at dealers 2 years old, one owner with under 1000 miles. How many of these have just been used on the track by the first owner. So only 1000 miles but no knowledge of how treated and yet you pay top dollar for low mileage bike. Think one of the giveaways to this type of bike is with low miles the dealers says it has new tyres! Suggests to me first set were fooked through track use. Fwiw I previously bought an ex launch model triumph, used by the press when model was launched. It had all the extras fitted and had been back to triumph before going out to the dealers. Was one of the most reliable bikes I have had
Honda must have confidence in them as they are sold with the balance of Manufacturers Warranty - I've had one in the past and a mate has got one now - no issues.
