It does beg the question, what makes an ideal track bike. One of the guys at the track yesterday was raving about how the only bike he would consider in standard form to his BMW S1000RR would be a K7 GSXR1000. Thoughts???
I've seen all sorts, some rapid some not. IMHO at track day level, it's mainly down to the rider not the bike. How you can say you'd only have the bm or k7 is beyond me.... The most common and seem to be the quickest lads out there at the mo are on zx10's, bmw's, rsv4's, and 675'rs..... Then the normal run of the mill stuff - blades, r6's, r1's and everything in between. Don't think there is a bad sport bike made within 10 years that isn't good enough for track. Some will need tweaking in certain areas. But seen quick guys on all sorts of things. Was a fella in fast at brands the other day on a monster.... Was showing up quite a few 'sportbikes'
Don't worry about it, it'll be fine! What's the worst that could happen. Sure firebloke will show you where to go lol
Gonna post this BSB lap for reference. I may not be as quick as I would like to be, but this may help.
