Didnt want to put this in writing just yet, as I was still edging my bets! But..
Looks like Ill be blowing you guys out this time round...bit miffed tbh! but no point kidding myself.
Not going to have the extra £50 cash required for fuel this time round, had school proms and birthdays to pay for as well as my 8000 mile service due in 120 miles!!!
Im well miffed as it would of been cool to meet up let alone a good days ride, just wanted to let you know as others had asked about my leaving time.
Obviously if things change Ill be there, but v unlikely.
Have a bloody good time peeps, looks like it'll be a giggle!
    :(

May i make a suggestion, The A1307 is a boring as sin road always full of people driving far too slowly.

I've modified the route for what i would recommend to go around it.

Also when you return, if you are going through Finchingfield, stop off at The Fox Pub, they are very friendly and is the local watering hole for bikers stopping.
Finchingfield route below attached. This goes from Lavenham through finchingfield, to Dunmow then back to Baldock, some of the best biking roads in my opinion here

If i cant make the ride, i will try and help pick out the good roads for you!
The road that takes you to Cavendish has some sharp twisty bits on it, you guys are going to have a blast!

    Pete

Navvy has been doing a lot of the organising but I am sure if you could put your ideas down on an entire route plan that would help us out no end.

I dont know if anyone even has a satnav so a bit of help identifying all the roads would be awesome mate thank you :D;)

Right Ladies and Gents, I have modified the route to take you on some great roads around the counties. I hope Navvy doesnt mind, i have stuck with the majority of his route just tweaked it.

    https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Baldock&daddr=A11+to:Balsham+to:West+Wickham+to:Haverhill+Rd+to:Rowley+Hill%2FA1017+to:Lavenham+to:Stowmarket+to:Earl+Soham+to:Rendham+to:Aldeburgh,+Suffolk+to:Otley+to:Needham+Market+to:Sudbury+to:School+Ln%2FB1064+to:Cavendish+to:Steeple+Bumpstead+to:Finchingfield+to:Great+Dunmow+to:51.867818,0.2921657+to:Baldock&hl=en&ll=52.035597,0.933838&spn=0.947866,2.705383&sll=51.8731,0.269852&sspn=0.059457,0.169086&geocode=FQBMGQMdOB39_yl1uINDQSx2SDHt4o6dXaIX9Q%3BFXfhGwMdCeADAA%3BFUJ4GwMd-dIEACk7oJJj62bYRzHFyjCsEqDK4Q%3BFY4-GwMdC2kFAClFUn65SmfYRzFsGnlTaQWKew%3BFdXtGgMd-HsFAA%3BFSp_GgMdJzwHAA%3BFSwgGwMdQjgMACmBRUh5oKzZRzEJJq5ZHnfp_g%3BFeZWHAMdUDkPACnl5V6oH5bZRzHG_1pNMdDbGA%3BFYnXHAMdaFoTACk_qqOd1pDZRzGc4cNPAkIR9Q%3BFUbrHAMdNPAVACnvRH2Mw47ZRzE5VwFjTWXLMw%3BFd3TGwMdvmsYACklmtU3kifaRzH7B6hJWlU0Sg%3BFebMGwMdyKwSAClztopgt5nZRzFTwr4JPfuKGA%3BFdjUGwMd3gMQACnxc5BJgKTZRzEA1tGOi9ocMg%3BFVcVGgMdshYLACmrgCYiXlDYRzHeUVpz0XuzwA%3BFbOGGgMdYmMKAA%3BFSvJGgMdwqoJACkJJbTMLlfYRzFp-4Dbq6UmGA%3BFeYbGgMd4NAGACmpI-PcEl_YRzFPEy58pnyj3g%3BFXf6GAMdLeQGACkVgGKnM_TYRzGS9m7uz9eMtw%3BFZyEFwMd64QFACkPcNStOI3YRzFgY8K7qBwOBQ%3BFapwFwMdRXUEACm9G-uf5o3YRzEpeljdc_wn9Q%3BFQBMGQMdOB39_yl1uINDQSx2SDHt4o6dXaIX9Q&oq=Baldock&mra=dpe&mrsp=19&sz=13&via=19&t=m&z=9

The road that links from the A11 through to Haverhill is part of my daily commute, its very open and has some nice flowing bends, you can easily fling the bike around.
I would definitely stop off in The Fox in Finchingfield for some food and drink.
There are some roads that could catch you out, there is a very tight right hander on School lane and the B1064 its off camber too so the ground comes up quicker than you think.

Make sure you all take loads of pictures, i am seriously gutted i cant make this one.

Let me know what you think to the route, i have a whole book of premade routes my dad and I came up with I can publish if people are interested.

    All the best

    Pete

Looks like a blinding day out fellas....going to join you at Baldock for the start so if anyone fancies a meet up on route I'm more than happy to oblige.

Coming from Southend and looking at A414, A10 to Buntingford and then to Baldock...A507 I think.....

Mr Ozz you mentioned Bishop Stortford but I really don't know the area well enough to make sure I could find you.

    Cheers all

Quickest route would be M25-A1 north to Baldock but not fun on a bike

    Hey mucker,

    You are more than welcome.

Me and my buddy are gonna get there for 8 am to have a maccy D's and a coffee. I think the time of departure for us all is around 9 am. So they will probably be arriving somewhere between 8 and 9 I would think. The Buntingford road is nice on the bike mate, but apparently the old bill sit up around there, so have a blast but take it easy as that road just asks you to nail it everywhere.

Looking forward to catching up on Sunday morning mate :D
