Captain Tom fund raising for NHS

I think why he was so popular and raised so much is:

1. he’s a war hero
2. He’s a “normal” guy - not a multi millionaire asking us peasants to donate while we sit in our tax haven getting richer
3. He’s selfless, caring and Down to earth
4. He’s 99 years old.

What an amazing guy

 

and 5. He's doing it for the right reasons and not doing it in attempt to become famous.

 

Just read they're trying to arrange a Spitfire flypast his house on his 100th birthday...

I see Brenda's cancelled her birthday gun salute....be a lovely gesture from them to fire a few off on Tom's birthday I think..

 

Sadly the news is reporting that he has died at the age of 100.

Duty is done Sir Tom.

had a ex workmate pass away due to covid last week, 35, and leaves a 9-10yr old daughter
