Looking like the general consensus is complete anodized black with no logo. This should keep cost down If everyone's having the same?? Hope you manage to do these mate, haha I bet you're sorry you offered now
Where are the pics? ...I've recently forked out for a carbon chain guard but I am always up for more bling! EDIT: I mean pics of the one you're getting to copy from. Onviously not pics of the ones you are yet to make!
Just a point to add. Once I’ve made some I will post pictures of quality and if anybody wants a plain set will send them out at reduced cost to confirm quality and fit. I’d then be looking at taking deposits before getting a batch anodised
Interesting one, tuktuk' 6.2 of the manual refers: 'Reason for rejection: a drive chain/belt guard, insecure or fouling another component'. However, there seems no provision for not having a guard, unless there is a blanket overrider for 'dangerous equipment' or similar. Remember that rules change on May 20. Sorry guys. Not heard anything from @ColinBR for a couple of weeks. He was going to send a part out to me and also some drawings so I could make a start over the Easter BH but haven’t received anything. Can anyone else lend me something? Will do machining for free to receiprocate the favour?
Is it possible to fabricate your own from scratch or use the photos colinBR posted? From what I could see its a two piece design......can't be that hard for a man who does this for a living can it??!! Sorry .......does this for a hobby I mean!! Haha
I haven’t received anything from Colin. I can machine and guess using a photo HOWEVER; a photo does not show scale/dimensions/technical data etc etc etc.... a drawing or even better a 3D CAD model would. You can’t manufacture anything from a photo, even 3D printers require a “solid” 3D model to manufacture from. I can produce a 3D model and could guess the sizes BUT it’s very much trial and error and will take a lot of my time which would increase the price and
Wouldn’t be worth my time tbh. If I rushed and they didn’t fit right and I sent them out I’d have lots of unhappy people to deal with. If no joy I will search to buy one to reverse engineer and then sell it on. I run a workshop of 20 skilled engineers and I myself have been in the industry for a long time; I’m a time served, apprenticeship trained, highly skilled engineer; I know my stuff.
