    I don't work on the domestic side so I can't see the problem, well apart from the cables coming out of the consumer unit. Thought they had to come out the bottom, you know to stop liquids tracking into the unit?
    Of course, the cables, well, they ain't level, or protected from impacts, the spark you used obviously used the mortar joints as a level, and we all know how pissed brikies lines are, and he lost interest half way through going from securing every course to every other one.

    I'm only commenting in a light hearted manner, as said, I'll leave it to the professionals.

    I assumed from your post the 17th edition had an amendment I wasn't aware of from the 16th where BS7671 describes households asw AG1 therefore no mechanical protection is needed other than the outer sheath on 6242Y cable?

    Good few years since I did any house bashing though! :)
