never seen the rain!!!! and you live in the UK!!!! I won't go out if it's raining no fun but when touring, or taking it for a service you can't help it sometimes.
Hmmm, maybe we should talk to Rob about Dodo juice for Nice Motorbike. UK Clean Your Car might be getting introduced to my cars.
I use sdoc. spray the bike, leave it 10 mins. Then hose off. Then wash the bike with mequires, rinse then i use a chamois. then i use paint cleaner, then a polish, then a wax, all mequires (stage 1,2 and NXT). Then i use silica spray on the plastic bits, and autosol on the bolts to shine them up, then wax the metal bits. Then i put a coat of collinite over the whole bike (this is fantastic stuff, and impervious to chemicals and even paint) on top. I do this every time i wash the bike. Comes up better than new, and Collinite is great on the swing arm and frame etc.... http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/collinite.aspx?gclid=CIvX8q2dh60CFVQLfAodyEx2SQ
for the last 9 or 10 years my bikes have only ever been toys not transport. never go in wet or on damp roads ( the guys at the local dealers know me that well that if theres an mot or service booked and the weathers iffy i don,t show up) i use autoglym on the panels and a dry soft cloth to just dust over the frame parts and a little wd40 on cloth to clean rear wheel then autoglym over that. also a cloth in around shock and linkage, forks and inside fairing panels. this gets done after every trip be it 3 or 300 miles. (its a nice way to pass an hour or so with a cold beer when kids in bed) even take hugger and front mudguard off a couple times a year to clean up underneath. this might seem anal and i do get a lot of piss taking from mates but also get loads of comments on the bikes amazing condition when i,m out and parked up. i work damn hard to give the wife and boys everything i can so when i can have a little toy myself it gets treated like one of us. more often than not i have a second cheaper bike that i,m not quite so fussed about so i can get out and about when its a bit iffy as my brother and the guys i ride with don,t see things the way i do. lol.
I either use SDOC100 or Dodo Juice: Born to be Wild to wash the bike, with cold water. Then I use a carnauba rich wax to buff the panels up whilst using a good quality metal polish for the metal parts. WD40 to clean the wheels. Then either ACF-50 or Scottoiler FS365 coated over the bike before the panels go back on (obviously avoiding any parts of the braking system ) Anyone have any good ideas on cleaning the rear shock on my 07 as it is buried into the swingarm?
Bound to be a few on here that post on this forum or lurk A world for detailers... Some of the guys are very anal about cleaning, I just enjoy it. But so good info on there.
