All the talk of not using a pressure washer but I reckon the carefully use of one is just fine.

Take a look at the job this guy does on a 30k mile 96 Triumph!!

I use a pressure washer with a foaming lance. Just be careful where you point it, keep the pressure down and don't get too close to the bike. 30 mins and I'm done, and then it's only once or twice a year ;)

I use muck off and bought 10 litres for the price of 5. I also bought one of the weed sprayers from the garden centre that you pump up and mix the muck off 50 / 50 with water after a tip from a mountain biking mate. This way it goes much further, doesn't dry out as quick, gets a more even spray than the crap muck off spray bottle and gets into a few more places for a deep clean. You should apply muck off to a wet surface anyway so this way it saves having to wet the bike first.

For me...Hose down every work day after commute

Each Saturday - hose down, turtle wax and warm water, hose down, chamois, WD40 levers, springs, chain outer and eleccy bits. Lube chain every time it looks like it needs some love. Return to bike every 30 mins for the next 2 days to see if I missed any drips and dry with chamois...oh and to give it a pat on the tank...

Sceptical about expensive potions, and never use pressure washer.
