That's what I have matey, but the CB has not got plug top connectors for the SH loom to plug into so will go on an 08 plus cbr no probs I will need a HM PC and ignition unit ... I think Arthur looking into it for me
When you said I need a SH loom I assumed it had plug top coils! However NOW thinking back I can picture the coils! I guess I should have checked for you IF it fits...lol Good job the loom was a free swap! Will have a word in the week and see what we can work out for you mate..
Cheers Arthur its not your fault in any way the assumption made by me was that the engine would be identical to the 2007 CBR, think it will be HM PC with one of there ignition units but will wait to see what they say next week before I sell or go off and do the wrong thing Thanks Arthur all you did was help an ill informed idiot
I'm very impressed with it, super smooth, tons of torque low down, it flicks from side to side so easily it surprised me TBH. I will be doing 500 miles this week so will do a good review after that also have to fit the can etc which will improve the sound, even though after the ducati everything seems quite Front seems a little soft but will add a few turns of pre load to see if it improves, have added two clicks to the rear already one more should do it But in a nutshell I love it
Nice one J. Looks really nice. It badly needs the exhaust changing though. I nearly bought one of these a couple of years ago. I test rode it and was impressed. It had a GPR very small twin outlet exhaust on that was v loud. Ran like crap though, it needed a PCV
I have PCV, Titanium Akrapovic and de cat pipe sat under the stairs ready to fit next weekend along with hyper pro steering damper, GI pro and maybe a quickshifter
Bridgestone bt015, not bad so far as I found the qualifiers shocking on the blade ! Thinking of getting Metzler M5s next unless anyone has a better option, think my favourite Interact K3s may be a bit overkill for the commute
Just checked (no more mistakes ) and all that is required is HM PC for PCV will be fine of the CB1000R mate.. much the same as HM Plus only works with PCV no need for the IG module.
it is very easy to get carried away with tyres. It was a real eye opener for me when I did the Ron Haslam race school. All bikes there are fitted with Bridgestone BT023 sport touring tyres. I pushed far harder round corners than I ever do on the road (my road tyre of choice is dunlop sportsmarts) and the bike never hinted at letting go. I'm not saying i want BT023 on my road bike, but any sport tyre on the road i guess is much more capable than we are! At the end of the day, we go what makes us feel happiest.
VERY true, I say just that all the time.. Even the BEST tyre money can buy will cut loose on the road if you run over dust, grit, oil, pot holes, banana skins, number plates, cyclists (after one spat at me racing with 30 of his pals this weekend! ), like you say they are all ace but buy what makes you feel good its the mind set that puts us at ease with riding fast on the road or track, if I were to disregard tyres from moments I have had there would be none left on the market to use...lol
Here she is modded up a bit PCV HM PC quickshifter (cheers Arthur) GIPro Hyperpro CSC steering damper Akrapovic can and de cat Jon.F undertray R and g bungs and tail tidy Just waiting on seat unit now
