I did the same to my beautiful black R1 just over a year ago so I feel for you Si. I think you become ambivalent to the fact that you're ok whereas the bike is damaged, after a while though you realize that all the comments about you being ok are bang on the money. I'm sure the bike will be back to pristine in no time.
What a shitter Si, glad you're ok mate, bloody expensive getting oem, Mr Honda wanted 1800 quid ex vat for a swing arm for mine, got one off Justin whos a member on here for silly money.
Sorry to hear this bud but at least you ok as my dad always says plastic and metal can be fixed . Keep a eye on the arm adrenaline makes it seem ok now might be worse in a few days Leathers take a few good beatings they good to go again they are bud Looks like right gear saved you and the bike from worse damage

Well I'm gutted , the bike will soon look fantastic again , Bike can be repaired no prob , so long your ok si that's more important , good reason to buy some new leathers now The others did look a bit tight lol .......
Kangaroo hide is pretty clever stuff. It's fibres resemble raw fibre glass in its structure so its laminated. Cow hide fibres look more like the strands of a bungie cord so they separate easier under stress.
Glad you walked away from it mate. Armour's a good idea. I read just the other day that even leather will abrade thru in 5 seconds at just 15mph. BTW, did you take a pic' of engine protectors? Did they get anywhere near wearing thru? GWS, ATB, Nick.
