Fair enough Oulton is only 30 mins from me but still needed a trailer as wait till you start expanding your track day set up .when you have done a track day you will start to understand why a trailer/van is needed.

Tyre warmers ,generator needed at cadwell, tools, wets ,fuel cans, the list goes on and on and on and on .:D

I had a 6x4 box trailer and it got to the point when my bike wouldn't fit in with all the stuff I had/needed.i then had to get a 8x5 box trailer the way it's going I will need a fecking wagon .Its a real boys with there toys days out Yorkshire Tykes crew had a barberque on the go when we were at cadwell.

Yeah i'm looking at cheap trailers now, something that i can squeeze round the back of garage. I did think about taking spare fuel cans and can only carry paddock stands in the car anyway, but the bike came with wets on wheels, so either way I'd like an mot even if its just for a quick blast every now & then to check all is on, but ultimately a trailer will help me carry what i need.

Not wanting to start a new thread, despite having bought a trailer I have also just received the track bikes logbook and got its MOT booked for Friday. The mechanic is happy to test it with just a horn, number plate and relector, result!

No reflector needed .show him this and to ring if a problem

Thank you for your e-mail enquiry dated 4th May 2010, concerning daytime MOT's.

A daylight MOT would require a motorbike to have a horn and a rear registration plate.

The testing guidelines state that motorbikes can be exempt from having lamps tested if they meet the following criteria:-

machines which have neither front nor rear position lamps, or have such lamps permanently disconnected, painted over or masked that are:-
    only used in daylight hours
not used in times of serious reduced visibility

The following items/lamps are not required to be tested in order for a MOT to pass a daylight MOT test as long as they meet the criteria above.
    Front and Rear position lamps
    Headlamps
    Stop Lamps
    Rear Reflectors
    Direction Indicators

VOSA can only advise on MOT standards queries. For information on the legal requirements you will need to address your enquiry to the Department for Transport, as they deal with the Construction and Use Regulations and Road Law.

The Department for Transport can be telephoned on 0300 330 3000, or you can visit their website at http://www.dft.gov.uk for further contact information.

Nice one Jase. Ive got one of those small stick on reflectors for the numberplate, but i see your point about not needing one for a daytime mot though, it would be kind of pointless wouldnt it
