Dropped in to Carl Rosner in South Croydon on Saturday.. apparently the Italian allocation of bikes might not sell out (dealers there are asking for £5k deposit) so a few on a waiting list here might be in luck..
I'll be there on Saturday, so will hopefully get to take a closer look (if I remember to take my letter from Triumph and haven't emptied the bar before heading over to their stand). Just looked at the weather forecast too - a sunny bank holiday weekend in the UK in summer? I simply don't believe it!
Am I only one to keep refreshing the Triumph website this morning..? Still no news - lazy Triumph lumps!
Nowadays though, with live streaming and the instant news anywhere, nothing is exclusive If they sent an information pack to your door, within 2 minutes, it would be on everyone else's screen. They have to manage the release of information otherwise all of the marketing campaigns are a waste of money and the Silverstone 'show-off' would turn into a "Oh, I've already seen it in 4k resolution and could zoom in on any parts I wanted to"
Oh, how do you know this? I need something to distract me from the usual England (& Wales) poor batting performance against the Aussies..
So a few pics but not much detail.. price as expected from £15765.. over 35 accessories to add “style, security, capability and performance”.. I will be quizzing the Triumph bods at Silverstone tomorrow.. Bit disappointed to see it looks like the headlights aren’t led..
They haven't carried over enough styling from the moto2 prototype in my opinion. The front end on the road bike is just typical Daytona. Should have kept the prototype fairing looks and just stuck some LEDs in the air scoop. A bit similar to how the R1/R6 front end looks. Not much to grumble about with Ohlins and Stylemas. 7bhp more than a street triple RS though? Top yoke looks nice.
Do I remember you saying you had considered an R1M Nigel? One went past me in the car last week with an Austin Racing end can. The sound was incredible.
Personally (I know I’m not Nigel) I’ll be waiting to see what the bods say tomorrow and after having a good look at it.. then I might have to think whether a cheaper Ducati Supersport S, or a more expensive but great looking Norton Superlight (delivery who knows when) is a better place to spend my hard earned..
