How did the groups work? From when we where watching there seemed to be both ends of the scale in each group, Your bike looked brill on track, paint work is gorgeous
Cheers Matt.......in those type of groups there usually is..... but actually thought the numbers per group was quiet low 25 plus in the inters i think......but those fast boys make it look easy ! You can usually make your own space if others are freaking you out........ lots of offs today though......remember the basics.....cold tyres and cold track need a few laps to get some heat in........warmers are next on the list !!
Ps you should of said hello.......! met Allblade on his Suzuki.......(wonder if Allblade Tag) is appropiate ! nice guy though plus he was sharing his bike ! my mate was off in first proper lap in first session !!!!!!
I didn't get there till half 2/3, saw ya bike in the pits but didn't see any one around, looked freezing out there, some lovely bike tho, what was with the lads in hi viz vests? The instructors or just people who chose to wear them
Was a good day - by my god so cold till about 2:00 As mentioned loads of off - I just saw the R6 coming to rest - proper destroyed, but mega rider error, stone cold and damp corner onto start / finish and think its off camber so prob. just washed out - also saw the CBR400 going off track down craner curves - again very early lap = cold tyres and he took an odd line and it just washed out. As mentioned I think Focused and Donny ran a good day - I feel there is nothing to fear about 98db days - and with the ever increasing restrictions on noise limits it almost makes sense to set your bike up for 98db and leave it that way then you know you have no problems - maybe if racing its different. And my old shed of a suzuki has another fan - mate really enjoyed it but is insisting it has an oil and filter change and fresh brake fluid and maybe tyres - I trust the 023's but he could not get his head round them, but had no slides or problems.
I saw the CBR 400.....he told me he usually take Craner "Flat out" ? without giving thought to tyre temps ? Some mad men out there !!
This is the reason I first bought a 'proper' track bike! On my first track day I was on a road bike and I saw a couple of brand new bikes with this type of 'modification' done to them and their repair cost would have been more than the price of my first couple of track bikes..... Hope everybody was OK and they get the bikes fixed up quickly but most of all I hope the weather finally turns and spring arrves soon!
It is a track bike and is nt actually that bad... He had Chinese plastic fairings so it was "Snap Crackle and Pop" for them ! no major damage to frame just a few scuffs crash bungs did a good job...... But most importantly he was nt hurt !
Glad to hear he was OK. The fittings, air tubes and main bracket lead me to think it was in road trim but it does look OK apart from those bits. I did a cold day at Donington a few years ago and it was very slippery.
