Was a top day for all I think, great catching up with the boys.... For me slightly mixed, new front end is mega, was proper nervous out of slow corners and brakes need bleeding as was getting fade. Leg was sore but better than expected and I was running at same td pace as end of last season... But take that as first time on bike since I done my leg / ankle.... My once amazing rear tyre wear now needs tweeking to suit the front (I think) but overall was a great day to take the positives from on a personal note. Great being on track with firebloke and Mad Matt who's come on miles and special thanks to CK for following me out and giving some instruction and confirming what I needed to know.... I got to man up on brakes and out of corners lol.... Couple cheeky pints after.... And maybe one or two with dinner in a bit
really good to meet a few of you this morning. many apologies to jimbo cos i dont think i introduced myself, but know your face now mate. can i just say you are a great bunch of lads , and from what i can see you all ride really well and above all safe , unlike some today.
Cracking weather but with Thundersport there from tomorrow, a lot of racers were there who even though being told more than once in the breifing that it was a trackday and not a test day, still thought standing people up and throwing it down the track were all part of a good day. Lots of reds but still had a good laugh and a big bonus the Blade ran perfectly all day. No smoke on the overrun and no misfire issues And nice to meet you guys too!
Dude you were going really well. Especially through Craner Curves section. When we set off on the first lap I did think "oh here we go, he might just lose me here" lol. I was mentally preparing my line for after, that I had been behind you the whole session and you were riding perfectly Improve that braking and you'll be down in the very low 40s from just that. Couldn't fault any other part of your riding.
Yeah great meeting up with everyone.. Thanks to Jimbo for giving me some solid advice I'm there again soon so will put it into practice Thanks to Barney for taking time out to do the photos, top fella Thanks to Gary and CK for sorting the garage. And thanks to everyone else for a great day. The time on track wasn't as good with the fast group getting red flagged at least once in every single session. It seemed that as soon as we were getting into a good grove the red flags came out, ruined it a little... I still managed to hit my days target time of 1:46 with a 1:46.06 being the best but a few in the 1:46's but believe a 1:44 could have been possible if not for the red flags. A 1:42 will be the next target time... I also need to take lessons on using the Drift, all my footage is upside down and the sound is horrendous...
Upside down easy sorted Matt. The Mic on the Drift is too good tbh Matt and thus causes problems with the noise of a Track Bike. Go in to settings and navigate to the Sound/Mic sensitivity settings. There are three levels, choose level 1 (lowest sensitivity) and the sound will improve Ten fold! ;-)
This will obviously only work for future Vids! Also locating it on the side of the Fairing like yours doesn't help with Wind Noise, that's why I kept mine behind the Fairing Screen. You can, for little cost, get a remore mic which U can shove under the seat etc which is better still.
