Paper licence is still perfectly legal. Always made to make me laugh back in the day when we had the paper counterpart (that accompanied the photocard) and people would ask to see it if you wanted to hire a car or had to provide identification. Very few realised that it was illegal for anyone other than a Copper or a Court to examine the counterpart and the look on these stuck up officials faces when it was pointed out that they were committing an offence was a picture. Shame they did away with it really Took my fun away..
